About me

I've been playing and running games on and off ever since I was given the Basic Dungeons and Dragons red box back in 1981. Ten year old me was hooked, and since then I've played and run all kinds of games, from AD&D to D&D5e, Paranoia, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (no really!), Judge Dredd, WFRP, Runequest, Traveller, Mothership, Mörk Borg, Pirate Borg, Dragon Bane, Warlock... just about anything I can get my hands on! But my true love is Call of Cthulhu, and that's what I'll mostly be running on here. So whether you're a seasoned investigator, or you've never played Call of Cthulhu before, grab your flashlight and your stick of dynamite and let's play some games!

GM Style

My games are mostly "theatre of the mind", using the great automation of FoundryVTT to handle dice rolls, character sheets and handouts, along with backdrop scenes and sound to help create atmosphere.

I had a cracking good time playing my first ever session of Call of Cthulhu with Keeper Andy. He provided an air of cool confidence throughout, and ran an incredibly fun session filled with great role playing options for our party of investigators. I wasn't sure what to expect, going in with no prior experience, but it wasn't necessary because of how well Andy was able to teach us the rules and mechanics. It was entirely theater of the mind, including our brief combat, but it was surprisingly well paced and narrated to the point where I felt right in the heart of the action. My curiosity has most assuredly been piqued towards Call of Cthulhu and will be coming back for more!

The session was great fun from the start. Andy was patient with those of use who were new to both Foundry and Call of Cthulhu. Even though we all had pregenerated characters, he allowed us the agency to decide the finer details of their personalities and backgrounds (including name and gender), which made the roleplay aspect much smoother than it might have been otherwise.

A calm, helpful GM who has a great handle on tone and narrative. It's not an easy balance to strike with a game as potentially grim as Call of Cthulhu, and Andy manages it perfectly. Highly recommended.
