About me
I am a pet mom, game lover, and avid reader and book/podcast listener. I am an educator, musician, and currently work to improve lives of elderly and veterans in my state. I love drama and acting and improv. I use it and my passion for stories to shape my style as a GM. I am constantly looking to improve my games. I have been GMing for nearly 2 years, after wanting to get into RPGs for many years. Once I took the dive I became enamored with group storytelling. I like bringing my NPCs to life and seeing PCs grow into their characters and flesh out their character's personalities as the stories progress. I enjoy combat and like to keep it efficient. I use basic maps for combat in online games, and announce turns ahead so everyone can be prepared. I prefer a simpler environment than most of the major VTTs, and use Discord and Owlbear Rodeo, and a lot of imagery. The main goal is for everyone at the table to have fun. I am not a rules lawyer, but like to maintain a balance with my rule of cool. :)
GM Style
I enjoy roleplay and creating voices and personalities for my characters. I love efficient and edgy combat, and letting my PCs use their skills and abilities. Bring your healing potions!

I have played with Kat when she was in a player role and when she was GMing. As a GM she sets the stage for a shared experience that is fun and often light-hearted, but also will exciting peril and challenges for players to overcome. I played with my teen daughter in a session that she ran for us and some other friends, and it was interesting and inclusive for the full range of player experience levels and ages. I've appreciated the use of quick and simple visual aides to give players a big-picture view of the surroundings and allow for maneuvering, while still filling in the rest with creative storytelling (i.e., not over relying on fancy visuals to the detriment of imaginative storytelling and mind's eye). Her demeanor is positive, friendly, and humorous, making the game fun for all!
