About me
Hello, misadventurers! You may recognize me as the former Dungeon Master at the family-friendly d20 Dames podcast. When I'm not running games, I'm a freelance game designer and author at my owner-operated company, Steampunk Unicorn Studio. In addition to writing for board games such as Divinity: Original Sin, Betrayal at House on the Hill 3E and HeroQuest, I have worked on the D&D NERDS collaboration, and I'm the author of an officially licensed book called How to Be More D&D (Running Press Books).
GM style
What you'll get at my table is cozy, family-friendly content. My games are social and exploration heavy, with low combat. I prefer the words over swords style of conflict resolution but that doesn't necessarily mean "no combat." Occasionally, I'll also run scarier gothic horror content. Unless otherwise requested, most of my games take place in the theater of the mind rather than making use of online tools. Although I love telling stories using character voices, there's no expectation for players to do so. Thinking outside the box is always welcome at my table and I embrace the "rule of cool" within reason.
