About Dylan

My name is Dylan, I'm 27 years old, and ive been playing TTRPGs for the past ten years. I've always loved DMing. I've been a forever DM since I've started playing because it was the only way to get friends to try it with me. I'm laid back, I like focusing on the Fun of the game, getting into character, telling a story with the groups I play with, and above all, I just wanna have a goofy time with good people.

I became a GM because

I love telling a story with a group and seeing just how much players impact the world and things around them. GMing also gives me the creative freedom for me to express myself and indulge in something that isnt this mundane, work filled world of ours.

I got started GMing...

when i was 15. i ran my first game in my schools D&D club after school. mt teacher was a GM and taught me a lot and even gave me a few books because he said he could see how much i enjoyed it. i owe a lot to him.

When I'm not running games I'm...

playing video games, streaming or watching shows with my girlfriend.

How Dylan runs games

I love roleplaying. I try to do an even mix of roleplay, Puzzle solving, and combat. All of that is mostly tailored to how my groups want to play. I'd say my SPECIALTY is more Roleplay and Puzzle Centered with a healthy amount of combat. The most important thing to me is making sure you feel like your character FITS in my worlds, after all, you are the main characters! I've run for juwt about every Archetype and stereotype put there, the murder hobo, the edgy Rogue, the toxic Lawful Good Paladin. And here's my rule of thumb if the party is cool with it, I'm cool with it. That being said, I also think that the DM should be able to have fun too. If you pick a Character that intentionally derails the worlds or systems within it, I might say no. I'm not a dM that let's my players do EVERYTHING they want, at least not without it coming back on them. In my eyes, D&D isn't a game of free will and choice, it's a game of consequences. Sure you CAN kill the blacksmith and loot his shop for all his magic weapons and armors early game... but you forgot about his son, ehos now plotting a revenge scheme, or the town catches wind, blacklists you from it, and informs neighboring towns of your group. Every action has a consequent weather kr not its a good or bad one is up to you. All in all though, let's have a fun time, yell a great story and make an awesome memory for your "character hall of fame"!

My games focus on...

fun. thats it. as long as were all having a great time, laughing, smiling, or even getting over emotional about the parties goblin npc companion they found eating trash on the side of the road sacrificing himself to save them. were here to have fun and experience something together.

Rules are...

a baseline for playing the game. they are important to follow in order to understand and play the game. i follow them. most of the time. i may make exceptions here or there in favor for my favorite rule, the rule of cool, but just because i let you do it once doesn't mean ill let you do it again.

When it comes to voices

i get into it, not going to lie. i love doing voices and while ill never make my players do them, i do them as a way to tell my players that its ok to do them. sometimes it may feel goofy or embarrassing to do them, but as a GM i love giving characters different voices to make them feel alive.

Dylan's ideal table

fun, light hearted, able to balance the jokey fun sessions with the serious story driven sessions. i always prefer to focus on making sure everyones having fun. if we can all tell jokes, be comfortable around each other, respectful, and read the room on when something is happening, thats the perfect table.

I am for a vibe that's...

chill and respectful. i want us all to have fun and tell a story together. this is a paid service and yes, i expect people to come prepared and ready to engage, but i also want my table to be a safe place for people to come and have a good time at, feel included, comfortable and escape for a bit.
