About DM Chris
I've been playing D&D for nearly a decade. I try to avoid the use of AI generated art in my campaigns. I've always loved storytelling since I was a child writing short stories in my school notebooks, and I take pride in creating immersive and memorable adventures for my players. I favor Rule of Cool over RAW within reason.

A balance of rich roleplay and fun combat. I love setting the mood with music, and creating an immersive, quick-paced gaming experience.

I deal with rules issues by...
I keep handouts as well as the PHB on hand if I need to consult them in the heat of the moment. But sometimes (not often) I may have to decide if those rules apply to my vision of the game world and I ask my players to be understanding of my reasoning.
My games focus on...
character impact on the game world. I'm that flavor of nerd who likes to ponder the ramifications of every action on the characters and world around the heroes. So sometimes between sessions I may make notes on what was done and explore unintended consequences in future sessions.
DM Chris's ideal table
Collaborative storytelling. I'm not here to tell you a story, I'm here to facilitate you telling your stories. In other words, player engagement is a big deal for me.

I love it when a player
Fills out the About section of their character sheet. I will in fact be reading all of your Bonds, Flaws and Ideals. And I may incorporate them into the adventure, if possible.
I think metagaming...
is a natural inclination for most players, but something we should actively strive to avoid. At the very least, concoct a rational in-world reason why your character's action would make sense when you're operating on player-only knowledge.
My table is not the place for...
edgy humor, bullying, or arguments. We're all here to have fun, but if your idea of fun infringes on other players or my idea of fun, please find a different group.
