About Joshua A.S
Greetings! I'm Josh, I've been playing Dungeons and Dragons since 2018 and been a Dungeon Master for 5e since 2019 on and off. I'm based in Indonesia, but I don't mind shifting my sleeping schedule to host games for different time zones. I've run sessions for players from America, Europe, and other regions with diverse time zones and schedules, so worry not, I have a flexible sleep cycle! I love getting new people into D&D, teaching new players is one of my specialties. I usually personally help my players create their character sheet. I've had experience successfully DM-ing for people from remote villages (who had 0 knowledge about roleplaying and fantasy), and for students for the purpose of English teaching. I also have experience designing a homebrew TTRPG system based on D&D 5e for a local LARP organization. As a mentally ill neurodivergent, it's difficult for me to maintain normal jobs. So, I've decided to try being a professional Dungeon Master. I was diagnosed with Bipolar, BPD, and ADHD among other things, and I have a non-binary transgender autistic husband, so I am LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent friendly! Right now, I'm more focused on D&D 2024. But I would love to learn more systems! REFERRAL Want to get $10 off your first game on StartPlaying? I became a GM because
I love to facilitate such a fun activity. The reactions I get from my players when I'm GM-ing is the reason why I love GM-ing.
How Joshua A.S runs games
I DM for D&D 2024 mostly, but I would love to learn more systems! I love a good mix of the pillars of D&D: Exploration, Social, and Combat. I love putting my players through emotional moments and ethical dilemmas during RP. I do voices for my characters too. I design my own enemies and bosses sometimes, and I like to create unique enemies with unique combat mechanics. I encourage creative problem solving during my encounters. However, one thing I prioritize above all: I want my players to have fun. Most of my sessions usually last around 3-5 hours, and I want to make the most out of your time. If we couldn't wrap it up, I'll either follow up with a free short session or a free play by post session to reach a satisfying conclusion.
