About Jorge

Hi! I’m Jorge, I'm 35, and I'm from the UK (born and raised). I am a voice actor and a lifelong TTRPG player and GM who’s been exploring fantastical worlds for over 2 decades. Over the years I’ve played in and run a wide range of systems. My current focus is Pathfinder 2e, which I’ve been playing and GMing since its release in 2019.

My favorite shows/movies are

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy Breaking Bad

My favorite system of all Time is

Runequest 3rd Edition. It is the first system I played as a child and wow did I play a lot of it! It's near and dear to my heart, even though I rarely visit it these days! Perhaps I will have the chance to run it again in the future...

How Jorge runs games

🧭 FREEDOM TO EXPLORE 🧭 Above all, I ensure that my players are the ones leading the adventure. As a GM, it is my role to provide the players with guidance, hooks, an interesting world to engage with, and signposts if they get stuck. But I will always leave it to their freedom to decide where to go and how to overcome obstacles. 🧙‍♂️ ROLEPLAY 🧙‍♂️ I have a deep love for roleplay and character-driven storytelling, due to my background in acting. I enjoy helping players improvise and collaboratively progress a story, bringing emotional depth to the table without railroading. I am a voice actor in my day-to-day and love giving NPCs unique voices. 📜 ADJUDICATION 📜 I’m a firm believer in playing to a game’s strengths; if we’re in a system like Pathfinder - a game with rich tactical combat - you can expect thoughtful encounters that make full use of the combat mechanics with a careful adherence to the rules. In my opinion, "rule of cool" scenarios don't happen when you bend the rules, they happen when players and GMs master the rules. 🗺️ IMMERSION 🪶 My goal is to create a welcoming, engaging experience where everyone at the table feels like a hero and key part of the group.

Rules are...

Strong guidelines. I will always try to stick to them as closely as possible, but am open to discussion (outside of playtime). The game is for everyone's enjoyment, and if a rule doesn't work for the table, we can come to an agreement about altering it.

When it comes to voices

I take a careful balance: Unique enough that it maintains immersion and helps players distinguish who is speaking, but not so wacky that it becomes distracting or grating. It's a delicate balance that I try to get right when possible, and am open to feedback when the balance isn't quite right!

Jorge's ideal table

My table style will vary depending on the type of game I am running. These are the games I enjoy running: 📜NARRATIVE GAMES🪶 First and foremost, my ideal games have the Player Characters leading the story. Even in a linear adventure module, the Player Characters should be the main protagonists and decide how the story plays out. 🗺️ OPEN WORLD SANDBOXES 🧭 I love running open world games where I leave hooks and signposts for the Player Characters, and they get to decide which ones to follow and which to leave behind. They are the creators of their own destiny and their own story. I truly enjoy how this type of game allows me to experience a new story alongside the Player Characters. ⚔️ TACTICAL DUNGEON CRAWLS 🐉 I'm a huge fan of tactical board games and video games. Sometimes, I like to run games for those players that want to be light on roleplay and heavy on combat. I will usually notify players beforehand if this is the type of game we will be playing, as I understand this is not everyone's cup of tea. All of my games will have a style tailored to one or multiple of these. If you are curious about the gaming style of one of my listings, please feel free to message me!

I love it when a player

Aids in building the world! Writing a background, describes their actions, gives names to the things they discover. RPGs are a collaborative improvising game and having the players be the worldbuilders alongside the GM is always a joy!

I think metagaming...

Is inevitable and is usually okay*. This might be a hot take, but many players are familiar with gaming and statistics. It's fine to work out the AC or saves of a foe and using that knowledge in combat. *Metagaming is not okay if players are googling story spoilers and sharing them with the party.
