About Joe
I started playing RPGs in HS and College where I both DM/GM'd games and played characters. Our group ran AD&D, Torg, Twilight 2000, and Call of Cthulhu. We also toyed with several others: Traveler (Classic), James Bond, Morrow Project, Cyberpunk. I took a break for a bit and I'm back into the RPG realm with recent games in Cthulhu and Daggerheart. I'm deeply into technology and enjoy finding the right balance for my groups with non-AI RPG assistive tech while keeping it focused on the "role playing" nature of the game.

I got started GMing...
in high school where my friend group would play all sorts of RPGs, sometimes just to try them out, other times to run campaigns. I leaned towards game systems like TORG and Twilight 2000, but have recently found Daggerheart.
My 3 systems I'd bring to a desert island would be
Call of Cthulhu - near and dear to where I spent time in RPGs TORG - it was so different from the AD&D and other systems Morrow Project - to geek out on its complicated system that I'd never use
How Joe runs games
I try to strike a balance between intrigue/mystery and adventure. On longer campaigns, I like designing a long mystery that unfolds and twists along the way that generates smaller quests/challenges for the party. I prefer a collaborative style with the players rather than a GM vs the party atmosphere. While combat is important and there will be crucial battles, it isn't the end all be all of my campaigns.
Joe's ideal table
I like running relaxed games where the atmosphere is more collaborative than GM vs Player. It's about the story and developing it while having fun and challenging ourselves.
