About Jade
Our name is Jade and we’ve been running the game for seven years and counting. Behind the GM screen, we love two things: speculative fiction and tactical design. Our adventures pit the players against puzzling tactical encounters as they explore bespoke settings full of wonder and intrigue. With the power of Foundry VTT, each game is brought to life with an immersive soundtrack, eye-catching visuals, and a polished interface. We love to run Lancer and Draw Steel, but we also dabble in Shadowdark, FIST, and a handful of indie horror titles. New players are always welcomed! We enjoy teaching! Away from the table, we’re a college student aiming for a degree in psychology. We consider ourselves plural and non-binary, and love to meet other people from neurodivergent or LGBTQ+ backgrounds. The best part of our work here is the chance to meet new people and trade ideas in our games!

I ran my first game...
I ran my first game for my friends back during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a little ramshackle thing put together over roll20, after I had been a player in a D&D campaign for about a year or two. But once I got a sense for the systems and the rules working in tandem with me? I couldn't go back.
How Jade runs games
In our opinion, the GM’s most important job is pacing. Whether you’re in the heat of battle or lost in the intrigue of politics, we’ll be doing our best to make sure things never fall stagnant. There will be time for both bombastic action and quiet characterization. In a typical game, I choose to reserve maps for fights and puzzles, leaving the scenery up to your imaginations. I also like to keep a tight handle on the dice, only calling upon them for when the players are losing control of a situation. No one likes to craft a perfect lie just to fail by the whim of a d20!
