About me
Tabletop roleplaying games are one of the constant threads weaving across my life. I've been playing since I was a very small child, both in games with peers and with adults around me. I grew up in a multi-generational game, a long-running story played by my father's friends and then the children of that group. I played in other games and systems through childhood, college and my entire adult life. I'm a professional actor, working on stage and screen, and I perform long-form comedy improv on a regular basis. I'm sure that it's tabletop roleplaying that sent me down this path - the love of play and storytelling touches everything I do. I bring genuine joy and excitement to the table. I have some old systems that I enjoy, and I love learning and running new systems. I'm excited to run a game for you. Please feel free to request something as well :)
GM Style
I love a grounded character with a rich backstory of friends and relations. I'm into the stories of everyday people striving to do difficult things, having complicated and tangled lives. The worlds are deeply realized, full of emotional hooks. My approach follows rule of cool more than strict rules as written, but in the direction of grounded play - I like to keep it plausible within our shared base reality. I do enjoy crunchy systems! I also like tactical combat, though online I will start us out with a Theater of the Mind approach.

Being a part of Jacobs table in luckily more than one campaign has been an absolute pleasure! His worldbuilding and storytelling are incredibly smart and funny. You can really dive into the story and forget the real world for a few hours. No matter how tired or occupied with other things us players were, Jacob always managed to create a fun and often emotional experience for us. I always left the table in a better mood than how I arrived. If you're looking for a dm that takes interest in making the campaign as enjoyable, safe and interesting for you as possible, Jacob is for you!

Best DM I've ever had. Jacob made an engaging and bright world for our game, wielding players' creativity into that. There was a place for lols and fun, but also an engaging story. Last game I had to stand up and lean on a chair because it was so tense and exciting. 10/10

Jacob creates an inviting atmosphere for players of varying experience levels to gather and have fun storytelling together. Jacob is a good teacher and can explain game mechanics while keeping the flow of the game moving. As a less experienced player I enjoyed how Jacob kept the story in the forefront and used a mixture of exploring, puzzle solving, and battles to support it.

Jacob was my first GM. I’ve never played a roleplaying game before, but Jacob led me through my first Apocalypse World and Dungeons & Dragons games. I felt taken care of - he helped me have fun without worrying too hard about the rules or being a ‘good’ player.

Jacob is an amazing storyteller and is a great GM if you are looking for a game where there isn't just a terrific story being told but also oppurtunities for lots of Roleplay that is engaging and fun. Jacob understands making games fun as well as emotional. We played for almlost a year and seldom have I played a more engaging game that made me want to come back every week.
