About Howard Trinh

Hello everyone, I'm Howard, 28 years old. I've been a dnd player for 2+ year and been DMing for about 1 year and a half. I have been in the customer service industry for about 5+ year and decided to switch my career path recently. Since I was a kid, I have always dreamt of having a party to explore the dungeons and defeat the bad guys and that's how I find Dungeons and Dragons. The love for the game is nourished by the happiness and excitement that I and my players shared together along the way. To me, my goal is to deliver the best stories possible and to have people around me genuinely enjoy the game as players. Players new and experienced alike are all welcome—the only thing needed is a good attitude! So why not getting in and build our stories together? Hope to see you at my table!

My favorite shows/movies are

It's hard to tell, for there are so many of them. Let me see, Arcane, Avatar 1 and The Batman

My favorite system of all Time is

DnD 5e, 5.5e, it might be a hot take but, I started playing with 5e and I feel comfortable running modules on 5e

When I'm not running games I'm...

Scheming monster combos to take players by surprise hehehe ... never knew when you get 5 advantage-multi attack from a pentadrone, right?

How Howard Trinh runs games

My games are a mix of mostly comedies (because everyone needs a fair share of laugh after a long working day, right?), roleplaying, of course. I think my game genres demonstrate how I GM/DM my games perspectively. I don't encourage the hating behaviors or discriminating acts in both my games and real-life. To me, the roleplaying adventures are the save zones that you can show yourself truly, even if it is just an imaginative character, as long as that doesn't harm anyone else. I am a relative new GM, but have run several campaigns now. That's why I offer to entertain you for a very cheap price - for now. :) If you are a new player and want to see if Dungeons & Dragons is a hobby that fits you, I am the here to guide you through.

I deal with rules issues by...

Consulting the rule book first, yes, because it’s a game system, and I don’t want something too overpowered, but to counterbalance that, I think it’s a great idea to let players add their flavors to the game 🎲✨. See if we can make adjustments here and there, so everybody can enjoy the game 😄

When it comes to voices

I always do NPC voices because I love doing different voices. Sometimes it hurts a bit when I do a little grunt 🤪, but it is funny and distinctive, so players can recognize the NPC better

Howard Trinh's ideal table

It would be great if my players can be friendly, open to positive discussions and constructive feedback, humorous, adventurous and most of all, they love the game.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table

pop culture references( you might see a Jason Statham doing his ''secret agent tasks'' as a normal person somewhere in the game or encounter Kermit the frog when exploring an exotic cavern, idk XD)

I love it when a player

engages in role playing/thinking about how their character reacts to this particular situation and fully emerge as the character

I think min/maxing...

is good in combat, but for overall enjoyment of the game, I say you should go how ever you like, as long as it bring no harm to any others and remains inside the hard lines that we set up from the start
