About Kaz Talcott
I’ve always believed that TTRPGs are living stories we create together. I’ve been GMing for years, weaving epic campaigns that mix character-driven roleplay with cinematic action. I love building worlds where players’ choices matter — from the city-sprawl politics of Ravnica to the mysterious Aetherscars of my own setting, Crystal Spire. My passion is helping players discover not just what their characters can do, but who they can become. If you’re looking for a table that feels like stepping into a novel or a film, that’s what I aim to deliver.

I became a GM because
I love telling stories. The value of stories is very much underestimated in the modern age. Further I view D&D as the ultimate bardic tradition, as a collaborative storytelling effort.
My favorite system of all Time is
This is a hard one, but I'd have to say D&D 5e (2014-2024) as it gave me my favorite settings.
When I'm not running games I'm...
Typically looking for new ways to tell stories, new stories to tell, or ways to expand on the stories we are in the process of telling.
How Kaz Talcott runs games
I very much enjoy providing roleplay and character development points, while not shirking narrative high stakes combat. I attempt to maintain a safe and friendly environement, revisiting session 0 whenever needed (such as when a new player joins the table). But the ultimate rule at my tables is as follows: I will protect you from my mistakes. I will not protect you from your own.
Kaz Talcott's ideal table
My players describe my table as relaxed, lore-driven, cooperative, and detailed. I like to think of my table as a friendly and welcoming environment. The kinds of players who would fit well at my table are those who would help promote that kind of environment.

I love it when a player
actively roleplays their character and engages with the story I am weaving for them
I think metagaming...
I think metagaming is ultimately bad for the game. The use of OOC (out-of-character) knowledge to inform IC (in-character) actions is a net-negative for everyone.
I think min/maxing...
In and of itself, there is nothing wrong with min/maxing. The problem arises when it is done with the intention of breaking the game or being stronger than the other players. It is always better when the party is balanced so that everyone is having fun.
