About AJ

Hey thanks for stopping by to give this a read! My name is AJ and I've been playing Dungeons and Dragons for nearly 11 years now, I've been GMing for nearly as long. Most of my experience is with 5th edition as its what I started with, although I've enjoyed trying other game systems when I have the opportunity. The thing I enjoy the most about this hobby is how people can come together with dice and imagination to tell compelling and fun stories. As a GM I aim to make my games a place where anyone can feel comfortable being themselves, and have fun in this lovely pastime of ours! Two of the things I enjoy the most as a GM are working with players to bring their characters to life in the game, and to help teach new players how fun DND can be. So from complete tabletop novices to grizzled veterans if you join one of my games you have my guarantee I'll do my best to make sure you have a good time. Now lets start telling a story together!

I got started GMing...

because my friend convinced me to run a game over a decade ago and I fell in love with it.

How AJ runs games

My first and truest love in tabletop is roleplay, and as such I tend to favor character driven games. That's not to say I won't add challenging and interesting combat to the game. Variety is the spice of life after all. I tailor my games towards the interests of the players and if you would prefer more combat, roleplay, exploration, or any other pillar of gameplay feel free to let me know and I'll adjust it for you going forward.

I prep by

creating npcs with their own goals independent of the adventuring party which helps to create organic plot threads for the players to follow.

AJ's ideal table

Players of any experience level are welcome at my table so long as they're willing to respect their fellow players and share the spotlight. I like to think my table has a relaxed and welcoming vibe where anyone can have a good time playing their character and telling a collaborative story.

Featured Prompts

I love it when a player

makes a suboptimal or even detrimental choice because its what they believe their character would do in that given situation.
