Hey there I'm Harlen, and these 'about' boxes make me super self conscious! I was introduced to, and started playing, D&D in '78(ish), but didn't start playing seriously until about '82(ish!). I started envisioning a dynamic campaign setting, more of a collaborative storytelling journal, all the way back then. It has gone off on strange tangents and morphed into more of a collection of collaborative stories set in a parallel timeline. I have been building the current setting since 1998 (firm! I remember this one!). One can expect surprise planar travel, insidious evil, and lots of pastry.
I have a general rule of saying 'yes' as often as is feasible to our players; that being said, 'feasible' can sometimes be a little askew from what one already knows and/or is used to. Every species and ethnicity had their own path to the present day, here. Nobody believes in gnomes, for instance. The gnomes think this is hilarious, of course. The improv concept of 'yes, and' is highly encouraged here, and RP can go off the wall. It is ultimately an open world!
