About Grim Toad
I have recently turned 40. I like to paint, read and play couch co-op video games with my better half. And we have an amazing daughter. Six fantastic years in the GM chair have allowed me the privilege of sharing in some incredibly immersive and rewarding stories. I started DMing DND 5e shortly after I first started playing and I haven't looked back. I have always had a creative drive and that paired delightfully with my enduring love of all things fantasy to allow me to guide players through my own homebrew worlds. I've played numerous ttrpg game systems from Call of Cthulhu to Elite: Dangerous but I have always gravitated back to DND. But I will never say no to trying a new system. Enjoyment. Entertainment. Craic.

I became a GM because
I fell in love with the game. I had never experienced tabletop roleplay until I was in my thirties and I truly envy those who were introduced earlier in life. It's a great, great way to socialise and build enduring friendships. GMing let's me spread this to more people.
How Grim Toad runs games
•Gritty worlds where consequences matter and every dice roll may shape the story. •Roleplay driven sessions but never forcing any interactions, and a focus on each player character developing fully within the overarching plot. •Rivetting, high-stakes combat but always room for hijinks and shenanigans. •And of course a healthy sprinkling of puzzles, twists and intrigue.
