About Gregani
Well hello there! I'm a story teller and weaver of imagination at heart, I'm a daydreamer and hopeless romantic for all things fantastical and magical. From a young age I've re-enacted my favourite scenes from Lord of the Rings to Star Wars, imagining myself in the boots of Aragorn or wielding the power of the force to defeat waves of orcs, sith and more. It was quite the shock to learn after over 20 years that there existed a game that would allow me to fully immerse myself in these worlds of fantasy and actually roleplay these characters I loved. For the past 10 years I have been playing D&D 5e on/off during my time at University but since 2020 my experience playing has taken a strong upswing, with the establishment of a local group through which myself and my wife have cemented firm friendships and made unforgettable memories. I have filled the role of both player and DM for up to 7 campaigns/games at a time, introduced friends and work colleagues to the game and even ran a live play podcast campaign that did very well in the charts... in Albania no less! I thrive in world building, creating or adjusting campaigns to suit players chosen backstories to enthral and immerse my players into the adventure I'm guiding them on. I believe now more than ever everyone deserves to experience the thrill and delight of excellent escapism that roleplaying games can give us, and I'm eager to provide that joy and excitement to new and veteran players alike.

When I'm not running games I'm...
Either writing/prepping for the next game or I'm playing video games both old and new. I'm currently playing through a series of my favourite PS2 games, including the Harry Potter games and Tomb raider games.
How Gregani runs games
Short answer: I prefer roleplay heavy, Rule of Cool, newbie friendly games but I'm flexible enough to cater to my players needs in any given scenario. Longer answer: I take a fluid approach to my GMing, looking to provide my players with an experience they enjoy rather than railroading the game to my own tastes. In general however I tend to use immersive descriptions, memorable voice impressions and roleplaying scenarios to help players feel immersed in the world and scenes they find themselves in when playing with me. If players are new to playing TTRPGs I have ample experience introducing friends of mine to D&D and I enjoy the process of teaching people how to play the game and how to best make use of their character creation and builds once in game. I take a patient approach to every player to make sure no one feels overwhelmed by the breadth of choices they have during gameplay. I'm always happy to assist players out of game if there are aspects that they struggle with.

I prep by
getting to know my players and their characters and testing their choices and preferences through gameplay and story moments. By studying their likely behaviours I can prepare sessions and challenges that play to the characters strengths and weaknesses in equal measure.
My games focus on...
Roleplaying characters, telling a story and being awesome while doing it!
Rules are...
guidelines to fun. Helpful in preventing the game devolving into nonsense but should never get in the way of an epic story moment or a funny scene.
Gregani's ideal table
My table is welcome ground to players of all kinds and levels of experience. I have ample experience working with new players both in and out of game helping them get to grips with the rules and mechanics of the game in order for them to get the most out of the game. I generally use online tools in order to run my games, hosting on Discord and Roll20 and using DnDBeyond for character sheets, however I have no problem with physical sheets so long as my players send photos of their statistics for me to reference. Where possible I might eventually move to in person games where I use a dry erase gridded map and either printed tokens or minis for battle maps. Players who enjoy roleplay and breathing life into their characters will find a very comfortable seat at my table but those who'd rather avoid roleplay can join too, while I may encourage some roleplay and immersion it is not mandatory by any means.

I am for a vibe that's...
Chilled during downtime but tense during heavier emotions. We're here to have fun and laugh while feeling awesome in our imaginations.
I love it when a player
fully commits to the bit their character is working through and embraces the emotions that can be brought up through gameplay. Collaborative storytelling is the best form of storytelling.
I think metagaming...
is not inherently a bad thing, it can spoil the fun of a game if used too flagrantly or even competitively. But it helps move the story along if one or two characters catch on to the breadcrumbs I'm laying for the party.
