About me
TL;DR: Immersive Mothership for new players Hey Spacer, If you think Mothership looks cool, let's play. Another Bug Hunt's first scenario has been some of the most fun I've had RPG-ing in a long time. You should share in that fun too! I enjoy player-driven experiences rich with narrative. My goal when playing RPGs is to seek the same sense of wonder I feel when reading a good novel. To attain that, rather than pre-write stories I come up with in my head, we meet at the (virtual) table to discover the story. Narratives unfold in unforeseen ways. Paired with the structure of Mothership modules, we have the formula for perfect sci-fi horror. Saddle up!
GM Style
I run a pretty loose game. I'm not a fan of math or number-crunching, nor tracking unnecessary metrics. Keeping the game streamlined as possible helps online play run smoothly. My goal is to immerse players in a world separate from their own. I like using atmospheric music, handouts and character voices. I still feel relatively new when it comes to crafting strong NPCs. I want to use this platform to hone several aspects of GMing. That being said, I love giving and honoring player agency. I prefer crafting the story around the players, planning only 1 session ahead. Hank of Runehammer is a big inspiration for me. You choose where to drive the story, I will create the sandbox around you and together we can craft a shared world.

My two kids and I just finished a game of Mothership with Andrew. He was fantastic! He used vivid and descriptive imagery and made the game feel tense and alive. He used Owlbear Rodeo for maps and it worked out really well. He knows the adventure forwards and backwards and was very accommodating and willing to ensure that we all had a good experience. Everyone had the opportunity to make critical decisions and to make the ending as epic as we wanted it to be! The end game in Mothership is Solve, Save or Survive and you can't do all three. And that's exactly how it ended! Highly recommended!
Andrew was excellent at running Mothership for our ragtag group of misfits explorers. He's always open for a cool idea and leaving it up to fate to see how it plays out. His introduction to the rules as the game played on was very helpful and encouraged each of us to join in at the table. I suggest joining Andrew's table if you're interested in trying out mothership.
