About me
Hi I'm Nate or Nat or whatever you want to call me. I'm a voice actor, you never know what voice you will get. I started playing dnd with some friends from work and then my infatuation with the game took off. I played in a few games before finally deciding it was time to start my own. I've been running a successful multi arc campaign in my own homebrew style multi-verse set loosely within the spell-plague from the forgotten realms. We've met irl at my house for almost 6 years straight now with tabletop sim on screen. I dm exclusively within 5e incorporating all kinds of homebrew things, items, rules, and places. I keep everything interesting by creating challenging combat encounters and mysterious npcs. I treat dnd like a literal rpg video game when it comes to creating the world and npcs. Instead of throwing the party into a plot, I tend to let the party create their own adventure. I throw them into a place that they can explore while mixing in their individual characters goals and backstory. I make huge custom maps in tabletop simulator using existing assets I find and throw in. I make it easier for everybody by just sharing my screen in discord so that and your character is all you need. The way I dm you could play from your phone, id recommend an ipad at the least so you can see everything. I try not to be super focused on the rules because sometimes rules don't make sense and rule of cool should take effect.
GM Style
I dm with complete control of the map and your tokens within the tabletop simulator. Sharing my screen to discord. Recommend having it set to full screen so you can see everything. You tell me where you go (the way I build the maps certain things can't be hidden with normal fog of war.) I also like to use a mobile app called the 5e companion. Its very useful for quickly making characters and is very easy to use. I try to play all of the npcs as if they were characters themselves. They have goals, dreams, things they need and want. I'm always down for goofy fun and roleplay, but when combat comes. It can be quite serious depending on what is at stake. Sometimes you can bite off more than you can chew. You just need to be able to outrun the rest of that can of beans. I also use some homebrew rules when it comes to certain things. For example, going unconscious, with how long different leveled combat can take. Being unconscious for an hour of game playing can be really annoying. I prefer to call it a state of dying. When you drop to 0hp, on your next turn you have 10ft of movement per turn, cannot take any attack actions (unless you use inspiration, or want to die heroically). You can use your action to heal/attempt to heal, or bandage yourself, while your rolling death saves on each turn. If say, you take a normal healing potion, you must also on that turn make a medicine check with it on yourself to come out of the dying state (any health potion above normal auto succeeds).
