About Grantt

My father introduced me to Dungeons and Dragons in 1987 and I've been playing and running games ever since. There's something about the storytelling and world-building that just keeps me coming back for more. My idea of relaxation is sketching maps, designing encounters, and coming up with compelling narrative arcs. I'm a professional writer and games designer with a love for crafting experiences through narrative and engagement. I've played and run multiple games and editions over the years, developing an ability to run for any theme or genre and a love of each and every one of them. I prefer narrative, meaningful games with worlds that react to the players choices.

How Grantt runs games

About Me I run immersive, cinematic RPG experiences focused on player agency and meaningful consequences. My worlds are reactive and interactive, and what you do at the table has a real impact on the story and the world around you. Every session is built to feel like a story worth remembering. I focus on tight pacing, grounded stakes, and challenges that reward player decisions rather than passive dice rolling. I do not run filler or railroaded plots. Your choices drive the game. You can expect clear communication, reliable sessions, and a welcoming table. I keep everyone involved, maintain strong pacing, and aim to create experiences that are engaging, memorable, and respectful of your time. I primarily run D&D 5E (2024), along with Vampire: The Masquerade and other narrative focused systems. My games lean toward darker fantasy, mystery, and consequence driven storytelling. They are grounded, tense, and immersive, with room for humour and banter where it fits. That said, chaotic silliness is not my style, so if that is what you are after, I am probably not the right fit. If you are looking for a game that respects your time and gives you something memorable in return, you will fit well at my table.

My games focus on...

Immersive experiences, cinematic pacing, and player agency. Basically, you get to make the decisions, you get to feel the consequences, and you'll have memories of games for years to come!

Grantt's ideal table

My tables are immersive and experience driven. My games are living, breathing worlds where players actions have genuine impact. You know that dream game you want where you actually feel like it's real? That's my table.

Featured Prompts

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table

The game feeling real.

I love it when a player

Comes up with an idea I haven't thought of. That's the real game for me - weaving player suggestions and concepts into the existing world and narrative to come up with something collaborative and much better than what I would have come up with on my own.

My table is not the place for...

Chaotic hijinks and pointless violence. Those games can be fun, but they're not my strength.
