About Kyle
I'm an avid gamer of both Tabletop and video games. I love reading fantasy and Sci-fi books and they greatly influence my games. I've been GMing D&D for 4 years now and am learning The Cosmere RPG as well. My GMing started out just running a game for my sibbling and a few games but I branched out to running a few games for a school club. I occasionally make maps for my games on Inkarnate and I use Foundry VTT for running most of my games. My DMing style is influenced a lot by Justin Alexanders blog The Alexandrian. I really like running games with a focus on the group telling a deep story together that everyone can become attacted to. my favorite moments being a DM is seeing players become attached to their characters and the world in a way that is hard to get with other mediums of storytelling.

How Kyle runs games
In my D&D Games I like to include at least as much role play in each session as I do combat if not more role play than combat. I like also like to craft lots of different scenarios outside of the traditional combat, exploration, and role play scenarios. I get a lot of these scenario types from the Alexandrian blog and they work out really well in game. For combat I like to make sure that most combat encounters have a secondary goal for the party outside of simply killing all of the enemies, I think this makes each encounter far more engaging and keeps players on their toes. For the Cosmere RPG Combat scenes are far less resource management focused than In D&D and as a result I balance combat scenes in the Cosmere RPG assuming the heroes have all of their resources most of the time. outside of that the Cosmere RPG also focuses on deep development of each players characters and so I like to sit down with each player and help them flesh out their characters so that everyone is happy with their characters. Speaking of characters, whether it be D&D or the Cosmere, I want players to be happy with the characters they are playing as in my games. If you aren't happy with your character and want to change things up that is totally fine. We can talk about whether a new character is necessary or if we can re-spec the characters class in a way that makes sense narratively. Ultimately if a player isn't having fun because of their character this is a number 1 priority to fix.

I deal with rules issues by...
coming up with a temporary ruling that everyone can agree on for the moment, and then at the start of the next session address the rule properly.
My games focus on...
presenting the players with unique scenario structures that are fun to interact with, why not turn the evil bad guys vaults from a dungeon crawl into a raid that feels chaotic and fast paced with plenty of opportunity for players to do cool stuff.
When it comes to voices
I highly encourage doing a special voice for your character, however if you're not comfortable with that its totally fine. Just make sure to make some sort of distinction between when you're talking in character and out of character so that we know. 3rd person narration is also a excellent option
Kyle's ideal table
My table style fits players who like a good mix of Combat and Roleplay in their TTRPGs. I mostly run combat with a grid so the Tactical crunchy kind of combat is most common at my table. as for roleplay, I try to create roleplay scenarios where even characters who are only built for combat can still contribute to the group effort.

I love it when a player
Encourages others to engage with the game on a deeper level
I think metagaming...
Should be kept to a minimum for the most part, I believe there are some instances where metagaming is necessary to either keep the game flowing or to avoid situations where a player simply wouldn't be having fun, but metagaming should be avoided at my table.
My table is not the place for...
Joke characters as a whole are not a good fit for my table, not that there's no humor allowed. The problem is when the entire concept of the character is the joke.
