About Eli
My name is Eli and I've GMed Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 Edition homebrew campaign, 5th Edition modules like Dungeon of the Mad Mage and Lost Mines of Phandelver, Monster of the Week, and played in various campaigns as well, mostly 5e, and even a RWBY TTRPG. I like to focus on the player driven narrative and story rather than focusing a lot on combat.

I became a GM because
I want to give it a try and let my forever DM play for once. It also let's me flex my imagination, improv, and voice acting skills.
My favorite books are
The Keys to the Kingdom Book Series and The Book of Accidents
When I'm not running games I'm...
streaming games on twitch, reading, or working on art.
How Eli runs games
I love story building. I love crafting narratives that focus on the players and their place in the world. I love having puzzles and secrets for the party to find. I also love creating hardcore non-combat survival scenarios for a higher stakes emotional game. I'm an aspiring voice actor so I bring a myriad of voices and accents to set the tone and immerse players in the story.

I deal with rules issues by...
weighing Rule of Cool versus Rules as Written. If it is a reasonable interpretation of the rule then I will side with the RoC. But if is something that seems too far out of bounds I will go with RaW. There is still some flexibilty in using RaW, but it depends on the scenario.
My games focus on...
player enjoyment. I want everyone to be involved and have a good time with the game; whether it's high stakes combat or elaborate rp and downtime activities. I like to adjust accordingly to give them the best game they've played.
When it comes to voices
I try to give everyone a unique sound that's all their own. I vary the range, tone, and accent to give them their own life within the game.
Eli's ideal table
I work best with tables that are flexible and willing to trust me to guide their story. Tables that allow me to throw in twists and turns that they adapt to and work together to overcome are some of the best I've played with.

I love it when a player
tries something out of the box. I'm not one to go strictly by the book with some of the puzzles or encounters in my games. If they decided to reason with an enemy or come up with a creative solution to a puzzle I will let them succeed.
I think it's a red flag when players...
ignore boundaries and game etiquette. If someone has expressed a boundary during Session 0 and another player ignores that, it's grounds to remove the offending player from the table if the behavior has been addressed and continue to do it.
My table is not the place for...
players who are inflexible, selfish and actively work against the party. Unless done in a manner that doesn't negatively harm the party, I will usually not allow for evil aligned characters. It can be done well if there is thorough communication between me and the players. Otherwise I won't allow it
