About Trevor
Hello! My name is Trevor Chandler and I love gaming and storytelling. I have been a nerd for 31 years, and I will continue to be one until I become one with the Force(Force Ghost training pending). Gaming is something I truly love to do, and it's something I've come to find I'm quite good at. I am here to make my hobby into a career, and bring TTRPGs to whoever wants to play. I started playing D&D in 2018 and fell in love immediately. I've always loved the Fantasy genre, board games, and I'm a theater kid, so D&D was right up my ally. In 2019, I was dying to play the game but didn't have access to a DM. I decided to take up the mantle because it was my only way to be a part of the TTRPG world at the time. I've been DMing almost exclusively ever since. I've typically run modules as a DM, but we stray very far away from the written framework. My campaign with my current party is my longest campaign yet at 25 sessions. I've learned so much from being able to participate in this long-term campaign and it's something I look forward to doing every week. I've been incredibly fortunate now doing two professional events in the last year. I got to be a part of the Bricks and Minifigs World Record for most D&D players in a session at the same time. I got to DM a group of 6 for that one-shot and had a blast. That led to me DMing at the Brickslopes Denver convention earlier this year, and it was awesome.

I got started GMing...
Because I was dying to play D&D and I didn't have a DM at the time! I just wanted to keep playing the game and be a part of that world. I wonder if Start Playing was a thing then too...maybe now my free time could've been spent traveling or trading crypto...but alas
My favorite books are
My favorite books, if I have to choose, is The Expanse series, and the Thrawn(Legends and Canon) books. Thrawn is one of my favorite characters. The Expanse series was just dope. Sci-Fi runs deep for me, and I burned through those books. I strongly recommend that series.
My favorite shows/movies are
My favorite movies would be Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Princess Bride, and Indiana Jones. I love the struggles between good and evil, a sweeping and swashbuckling adventure, and stories about fellowship and love.
How Trevor runs games
My priorities when I play are that everyone is having a good time, and everyone is involved. I like to keep the Player's abilities and classes in mind when prepping a session so that they can have special moments. I'm a fan of dynamic combat, where you can use your tactics and the environment to your advantage. I like to give people the ability to take cover or throw an enemy off a rooftop. It makes combat more exciting and involved! I love bringing theatrics and roleplay to my games. Every NPC will have a different voice, and my voices and descriptions are always dramatized. I enjoy that level of immersion into my games! I'm a big fan of in-game social interaction. On the same vein, I make sure my NPCs and adversaries are intelligent when it's appropriate. A group of baddies can be just as strategic as the party. An artifact or treasure will always be protected by traps or arcane means. I like my players to have things to do, and things to look at.

I deal with rules issues by...
I pretty much always go with the Rule of Cool. As long as something isn't game-breaking, I'll allow it.
If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...
I'd like to think Mel Brooks, Peter Jackson, and George Lucas. I can't help but keep humor in my games. I know the times to keep it out, but I try to keep things light. I like to try and describe things or play music to create epic scenes. And my stories typically follow a melodramatic formula.
When it comes to voices
I always try to do different voices or accents for NPCs. I think it helps with immersion, it makes it more fun for me, and it encourages my players to try voices.
