I got started GMing...
At age 11, after playing with a DM about 35 years old in an extremely modified version of AD&D, I led my reprobate buddies on adventures. You think adults are sidetracking your campaign. Try an 11 year old boy with ADHD! (terrible disease, one that I suffered from myself.)
The three words my players would use to describe me are...
1. Good Voice? I frequently hear "That authoritative DM voice." 2. Generosity - "DM Freed has never met a magic item he didn't want to give to his players." 3. Power Gaming - I generally let player build ridiculous characters. For instance in one game I have a monk praying mantis with 25' range.
When I'm not running games I'm...
Tuning foundry scripts for future games. Building crypto bots with n8n.
How Freedverse runs games
I love a D&D campaign that rewards strategy, creativity, and mastery — where clever problem-solving and deep system knowledge truly matter. You thrive in worlds rich with lore, mystery, and moral complexity, where choices have lasting consequences and every artifact or NPC hides a story. I enjoy high-powered but well-balanced challenges that push players to think tactically, blending cinematic combat with philosophical depth. Above all, I want a campaign that feels alive — one where the DM welcomes your ideas, and your drive to experiment with the boundaries of magic and fate.

I deal with rules issues by...
⚖️ I believe in keeping the game flowing and the story alive. Here’s how I handle rulings at my table: ⏱️ In-the-Moment Decisions I rule in the moment unless a player can immediately cite a clear, contravening rule. . 🕰️ Any player may bring up a ruling after the session, I’m happy to revisit.
I once ran a session...
For Three plus years when 5e first came out, Players started at 3. When I finished I had had to adapt prestige classes from the 3.5 materials and from our own ideas. They each dealt with every single class of threat I could throw at them. By the end they had played three sessions as gods @ level 30.

🧠 My Obsessive Prep Philosophy When I say I prepare for my games, I mean it. I’m the kind of Game Master who spends hours (sometimes days) tuning encounters, refining lore, and crafting monsters that truly challenge my highly privileged and overpowered characters.
Freedverse's ideal table
My table is laid-back but deeply immersive. I encourage creativity, collaboration, and laughter between moments of high tension and cinematic storytelling. The rules are there to support the fun — not to choke it. If something cool fits the tone, we roll with it. I tend to err on the side of preserving player agency wherever possible. If you've got a quirky build and it needs some homebrew to fix it, I'm the DM for you. If a player becomes overpowered his level will be replicated by magic items, boons or homebrew so that each character feels equally heroic and powerful! I run a living world where player choices truly matter. You can go anywhere, do anything, and shape your own fate — but choices have consequences. If you take Path A, Path B might get worse... or close forever. The world keeps moving whether the party is there or not. Every session builds on the last. NPCs remember you, rumors spread, and the map itself changes based on your actions. I reward smart teamwork, bold creativity, players who go above and beyond with their role play or descriptiveness and players who care about the story as much as the loot. The vibe? Open-world storytelling with a gothic edge — relaxed at the table, but intense in the narrative. You’ll have freedom, flexibility, and a DM who’s as invested in your characters as you are. Just remember: the world reacts, and fate always collects its debts. 😈

I think it's a red flag when players...
🚫 Player-versus-player theft or sabotage — stealing or withholding from other party members is not clever; it breaks trust. 🚫 Acting against the party’s interest. 🚫 Selfish play at the expense of the party. 🚫 Obsessively rules lawyers after I've made a ruling!
I think metagaming...
Is something we are all guilty of and all should attempt cut back on.
I think min/maxing...
Is a fully applicable game strategy. I mean who wants' to play a character that sucks? That said it's the interesting homebrew power characters that I allow in my world that really spice it up for me.
