About Reilly

I have been involved with TTRPGs for around 5 years now. I started as an avid fan of actual-play podcasts, that gradually turned into me finding a group to play with once a month, and that gradually turned into me becoming a regular GM. I have been a GM for almost 3 years now for several one shots and a few long running campaigns. I have been a GM for groups of up to 10 players at a time, and run many home brewed and published adventures. I mostly stick with DND 5E (2014 and 2024), but I have dabbled in Daggerheart and Warhammer RPG systems.

I became a GM because

The biggest bad of TTRPGs, scheduling conflicts, was always causing problems for my regular group! I decided to take on the heavy lifting of preparing sessions for the group and took over as GM as a result. I've loved every minute of it and haven't looked back!

How Reilly runs games

My role as the GM is to facilitate the telling of a story. The story is entirely up to the players (and the dice). I lean heavily into the roleplay element of RPGs, having the players interact with the scenarios they find themselves in and eachother as much as possible, giving depth and texture to the story. This allows for the players to take the reigns and craft as detailed of a story as they desire. I mix in high-stakes combat that requires more than just dealing damage to the enemy as well as social encounters that encourage the player characters to choose their words and actions carefully. That being said, I always have light hearted and fun encounters or situations to lighten the mood and help keep things from being too dreary. I see the story as a rollercoaster. All good rollercoasters have high points and low points. The players will conquer the highs and lows together to build an amazing adventure!

Rules are...

Generally meant to be played as written. But there's always room to bend those rules if it'll be really cool and add to the fun that we all have together!

When it comes to voices

I can promise I'll try my best, but a lot of NPCs will sound the same! I'm constantly working to expand my voice skills and keep things interesting!

Reilly's ideal table

My table is a mix of serious, gritty roleplay, intense, tactical combat, and shenanigans. Players that aren't afraid to throw on a voice for their character and dive head-first into some roleplay with each other and the story will have a great time at my table. The vibe at my table is very relaxed and all about a cozy, fun TTRPG session with friends. There are moments where things get serious, but it's only to add to the immersion of the story.

I love it when a player

Asks questions! Whether it's being unsure about how something works, a wacky idea, or rephrasing NPC dialogue, ask! Players that ask questions help me get a pulse for how the party is feeling and percieving the session and story.
