About Fern's Fables
Welcome to the cozy realm of Fern's Fables ~ My love of writing short whimsical stories began when I was little, but blossomed into GMing back in 2023. Since my very first Zelda-inspired homebrew, I've honed in on my skills in crafting & running various TTRPGs in the realms of Cottagecore, Occult Mysteries, Fantasy Adventures, and Dark Academia-inspired Fantasy. Outside of writing & TTRPGs, I spend a LOT of time browsing bookshops to feed my insatiable love of reading and humming vgm to the flowers in my little garden ♡

I ran my first game...
3 years ago with a completely made up story & ruleset based on the alien invasion from Majora's Mask (Zelda). It was terrifying & incredible & so so memorable ~
My favorite books are
Nothing beats a salted caramel hot cocoa & a cozy fantasy adventure
How Fern's Fables runs games
Come along for a narrative & cinematic experience, primarily with theater of the mind ~ At any of my TTRPG games you can expect to find plenty of rich atmospheric storytelling and layered complex mysteries. I treat each of my games like a storybook eagerly awaiting being written by the table. I focus a lot of my efforts throughout the game to create suspense-filled pacing that makes everyone eager to write the next line in our story; focusing heavily on creativity and drama rather than rigid rules; and welcome each and every player at the table to be excited and present in the fables we write ~
Fern's Fables's ideal table
My games are designed for players who prefer a collaborative & friendly environment filled with character depth and developing/exploring a story’s plot together. And this includes 1-shots as well, where I excel! Many think that it takes a 500 page book to develop a compelling plot and character depth; but the truth is, depth is created through pacing and vivid storytelling.
