About me

I play this game to experience magic. From intense cinematic high stakes combat to delving into ancient scrolls of arcane lore and mysteries of the divine, I love DnD. It is a profound way to tell stories, fight our inner demons, and ride the dragons of creativity together. I love to build my own worlds, drawing on various parts of the DnD multiverse, player character backstories, and a touch of modern day mysticism through philosophy, astrology and contemplative archetypes. This story is one we build together. I like to set the stage, and provide a compelling world to inhabit. But it bends, morphs and melds to what the players bring into it. This is one of the few art mediums I have found that can combine this level of collaborative world building, improv, comedy, drama, music, and high octane dice rolling into one delicious night of story making magic. I’ve been DMing 5E since 2018, though I grew up playing 3.5 my whole childhood. I’m a musician, an author and designer. Improv storytelling has been central to my life for over 15 years. I do my best to make this an enchanting world with character voices, intriguing NPC motivations, and plot hooks into player character backstory for collaborative storytelling. I love challenging and exciting combat, often with environmental effects and surprises that change up normal hit for hit battles. I roll up with tough monsters and dangerously high-stakes encounters to help heroes rise to a worthy challenge. I do love wacky workarounds and clever ideas - so expect to get rewarded for out of the box thinking. At my table you can expect to befriend magical creatures, discover new magical items, and encounter dangers to overcome. Through the highs and lows of the d20, we can laugh, cry, and cheer together. In my experience, DnD is a surprisingly profound game. The storytelling has helped my personal pathway of transformation through imagination and I aim to hold a safe and inclusive space for those who want to venture into these magical realms together. I feel the stories that we take our avatars into matter - and I try to create realms where the character choices we make can be a cathartic outlet for the trials and tribulations we humans experience out here in this world. So if you want to have some fun, make silly voices, roll dice, discover ancient prophecies, unlock secret treasures, and beat stuff with magical swords then come join me for an episode of Dragons and Dreamers. Inspirations - D20 and NADDPOD, Gene Keys, I Ching, Astrology, Archetypes Game Systems - DnD5E Tech - Discord or Zoom and Roll20

GM Style

I aim for 50/50 roleplay to combat in my sessions. I love to have time each session for roleplay shenanigans, mystical clues, and epic combat. I love feeling like each episode is rich and fulfilling. I use Rule of cool - and also think all the rules are cool. I love getting crunchy and using RAW, i know the rules quite well. All published sources are welcome. I also love making wacky homebrew, from custom items and spells to specialized encounter mechanics. You are here to be heroes and I want to make that possible. I like challenging encounters - I put my players against monsters and beasties that could be overpowered. Learn to use your resources wisely and think outside the box. I celebrate nat 20s with great zeal, I like it when people use their skill sets to learn more about the world around them and I aim to make sure each person has their voice heard at the table. I do invite roleplay even in combat encounters - describe how your magic spells look and feel - trash talk the bad guy as a free action - knocked unconscious? Prepare for your own dream sequence when it’s your turn in the initiative order. I love to use epic maps, artwork, and music in my games (Discord and Roll20). I will try to balance some theater of the mind as well as engaging dynamic maps.

Look at that smile! You know you want to sign up for a game anyway. Elijah is a DM that is very confident in his skills and as a result, gives players flexibility to build the crazy character of their dreams (Staying within the rules of the game of course. He is very Rule of Cool and you can tell he is having fun the entire session. His encounters are different and always encourage player team work which makes the sessions all the more interesting.

Elijah makes DMing look easy. Even at the highest level of play he runs his table with ease and grace. Immersive descriptions of your surrounds? Check. Challenging and varied combat? Check. He knows the rules and, more importantly, knows how to create a fun and concise story with a group of relative strangers. Honestly this was one of the best sessions I've ever played - I hope I get to sit at his table again soon.

This was an amazing level 20 game! I felt immensely, but was still able to be humbled by enemies. Elijah does an amazing job making the world and characters come to life with amazing descriptions and voices. His world building adds challenges to puzzles making everything feel exciting and high-stake. If you want to have an awesome time join his games.

Elijah is the absolute best DM I've ever played with. His storytelling is rich and immersive, his pacing is spot-on, and every session has the perfect mix of combat, roleplay, exploration, and emotional depth. He somehow hits all the elemental notes; drama, heart, worldbuilding, humor and wonder, and spirit for that tranformational magic.

Absolutely stellar! Elijah crafted a thrilling, high-level one-shot that exceeded all expectations. The encounters were challenging, the story engaging, and the atmosphere electric. Best D&D oneshot experience in ages! A true master of the craft. Highly recommend for any adventurer!

Elijah was a fantastic DM who was very open and communicative before the game started. While the session showcased his many talents, I really liked how he implemented creative combat goals outside of simply doing damage. Looking forward to joining more games in the future!
