About Eli
I am a 27 y/o man living in the metro ATL area. I am huge into storytelling, fantasy, cooking, community building and being with family. I always loved TTRPG's and found out about them as a child at about 10 y/o, it was an immediate escape for me for troubles at home or school. I then gobbled up every piece of DND media I could find and took a break from it for a while when I realized I couldn't get find anyone to play with. ThenI finally found a group and I joined them and fell back in love with the game. There, I played a lot of modules (Curse of Strahd, Tales from the Yawning Portal, Rise of Tiamat). I then watched all of Critical Role season 1 and learned how to DM that way while also reading the Dungeon Master's Guide. At that point, all I could think about was DND, different characters I wanted to make, the world I was building, and the game I was playing in. I DMed a few small games. Eventually I needed to find more people to play with, so I asked all my friends to play and I be the Dungeon Master. We had a campaign that went on for 3 years up to level 13 in a world I made completely from scratch. At times, I would improv a whole session just to see if I could with only knowledge of the world and my players loved the games! At the same time, I did another game of Storm King's Thunder for my brother's friends and they loved it. I am now doing a Lost Mine of Phandelver game and a One Piece themed DND game for my friends.

How Eli runs games
I am a 10 year forever Dungeon Master, that loves getting new players into the game and showing them the magic and life benefits of role-playing! I also play with veterans of the TTRPG community, and have just as much fun. In my combat I will describe every single move that happens with great detail, bringing it to life. There are no "misses" in my games, but there are reasons for failing. And hits feel satisfying every time! Also, the always the classic "How do you want to do this?" for destroying an enemy! I am always trying my best to make combat more exciting than "hit and miss". I do this by incorporating changing stakes and landscapes during a fight, or dropping big plot points. I like all my combat to feel meaningful, not just fighting to break up the monotony, it all has to make sense in context of the story. I am open to doing both home-brewed content and published adventures! My home-brewed games take a narrative focus, mainly on the players and their backstories. I find ways to incorporate backstories into the main plot, for more satisfying and meaningful story beats. I will do the same for the published adventure, depending on how by the book the group wants to go! However, I will always tie in a reason for your character to be on an adventure and not just be a character in a DND game. Thus giving you way more buy in and attachment to the story and your character.
