About Dragonworks

At Dragonworks, we run paid D&D games online with professional DMs who take the time to understand what you enjoy. That means weaving what matters to you into the adventure and reading the room so everyone gets a moment in the spotlight. Our team brings together more than 30 professional Dungeon Masters from around the world, running weekly games across multiple time zones. Across the wider Dragonworks community, we’ve run over 15,000 sessions, and many of our groups have been playing together for years. If you want to play D&D online, we’re here to help you find a table you’ll look forward to every week. You’re welcome to join on your own or bring a friend. If you’re a beginner, we’ll help you get started. If you’ve played for years, we’d love to see what you bring to the table. We started back in 2021 as a group of friends from completely different corners of the world, brought together by Dungeons & Dragons. Some of us had spent years trying, and failing, to find a good D&D group online. We knew how much it meant to finally find people you enjoyed spending time with, and how friendships could grow around a weekly game. So we decided to create a place where that could happen. We had barely got started when war broke out in Ukraine in early 2022. Our Ukrainian lead writer continued designing and testing our campaign while drone strikes shook his house. That work became Legacy of Alabaster: an adventuring tournament that has our parties howling with laughter one moment and on the edge of their seats the next. It now runs over 3,000 pages, with years of adventures ahead of you. Today, more than 450 players are part of the Dragonworks community. What’s grown around those games still surprises us. Couples have met here and gone on to marry and raise kids. One player even named his dog after a character from our campaign (now Alabaster is both a legendary archmage and a very, very good boy). How Dragonworks runs games

Every DM on our team goes through training, but each brings their own personality and approach to the game. The individual adventure listings will give you a better feel for who you’ll be playing with and how they run their table. Our campaigns adapt to your party. If your group enjoys difficult fights or spending an entire evening questioning a dragonborn in a nightclub, your DM will work with that. Your character’s ambitions give us something to build on, and your decisions can take the adventure somewhere we hadn’t planned. We use Roll20 for the game and Discord for voice. You can also use D&D Beyond for your character sheet.

We like players who take an interest in each other’s characters and give everyone room to play. You don’t need to be an experienced roleplayer. Being willing to join in and help others feel welcome goes a long way. The friendships usually start with small things: laughing about a terrible roll or staying after the session because nobody quite wants to leave. We hope you’ll find that here.
