About Cruise Spellins

My name is Cruise, pronouns he/him. I've had a love for storytelling since before I can remember. I started playing DnD shortly after high school and fell in love. I've been DMing for a little over 4 years now. Since I started DMing, I've had so many campaigns swirling through my head. I'm excited to see some of them play out!!

How Cruise Spellins runs games

I like to focus more on roleplay, creating environments players can wonder around in with layered soundscapes. I find that combat can tend to get clunky and slow things down, so I try to keep combat brief but exciting and promote collaborative turns. Team work makes the dream work, after all. I try to also give multiple ways of accomplishing goals, to keep things from feeling too linear, and the players' choices carry very real weight, whether it's how NPCs treat them, how much info they give them, or if they're keeping their eye on them.

The vibe of my table is dependent on the campaign or one-shot I'm running. Usually my table is very chill and relaxed, with a dencet amount of comedic moments. Occasionally, however, I like to run games that are dark horror or have higher stakes.
