About Dorca

The first TTRPG I ever played was the Wheel of Time RPG at my 13th birthday party, and I never stopped loving tabletop or Wheel of Time. The first game I ever ran was the Serenity RPG (Cortex System). Since then I've explored a wide variety of genres, systems, and styles, and I can find something good to say about almost all of them... even D&D 5e. During the pandemic I co-hosted an award winning tabletop podcast and started writing my own games, but what I really love are stories. I love writing them, I love telling them... and I can't wait to tell yours.

How Dorca runs games

My favorite part about GMing is building a world for my players to explore... to seed that world with plot threads to tug on and characters to interact with, so that players have real agency in how they choose to play. I'm here to build the skeleton-- it's the players that flesh everything out. I prefer more narrative and collaborative games, and I like to encourage strong character moments and arcs. Combat has its place in things, but it's not my bread and butter. I am not tied to any one system, and am adept at running several very different games with several very different moods. I cut my teeth on D&D 5e and d20 systems, did a stint GMing in persistent world online roleplaying games, and now spend my days storycrafting unique campaigns for dynamic groups. I'm experienced with a wide variety of stakes and tones. I've run light-hearted slice of life games, and I've run high-stakes epic adventures. I’ve run games for upwards of 8 players and games for small groups of 2-3. Where I really excel, though, is in the weird and uncanny. Interested in one of my favorites? I'll teach it. Curious about something new? I'll learn it. Unless it's Shadowrun, then you're out of luck.
