I got started GMing...

because I love creating immersive sandboxes for players to explore and enjoy.

How Zac runs games

As a GM, I specialize in crafting immersive, original worlds that draw players into rich, vibrant settings filled with lore and opportunity. One of my greatest strengths is in designing balanced, thrilling combat encounters that challenge and excite, while leaving room for creative problem-solving. I take a hands-off approach to storytelling, setting up dynamic situations and letting my players take the reins to shape their own narrative, fostering a collaborative and player-driven experience that feels uniquely theirs.

If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...

Sam Rami. A lot of tense action with humor sprinkled in.

My favorite trope is...

The idea of warring or missing gods that are returning to the world. Things like Dragonlance. Or, heroes like the Knights Radiant returning to Roshar, or The Dragon Reborn concept from Wheel Of Time.

Rules are...

Important for balance and making sure all players can contribute to a game equally; however, they should never stand in the way of fun.

Zac's ideal table

I have a long background in the military and organized team sports. I love a group that organizes and acts like a unit, exploring and solving puzzles as a team. I spend a lot of time prepping balanced combats and political intrigue in my world. Players who love to be challenged and solve puzzles seem to enjoy my table. Character survival is not assured! Most of all, I love to laugh. I like a laid-back group who likes to joke around and quote pop culture while slaying monsters and exploring dungeons.

I love it when a player

...outsmarts me. I love to set up complicated scenarios or puzzles. I love when a player finds a creative use of a magic item or spell that destroys all my plans and makes me improvise on the fly.

I think it's a red flag when players...

cannot trust the party or cannot be trusted by the party. I find it extremely irritating when a player tries to hide all information or loot or anything from the rest of the party. In my games, the players are a team, and have to act as such to be successful.

I think metagaming...

is inevitable, but a good player can seperate in game from out of game knowledge.
