About DM Lowes
So, you wanna play TTRPGs... I'm Mark, an author and DM. I've been playing TTRPGs since 2019. My games are rich in lore and history, intertwining plotlines and character backstories. Your characters are central to my games and I will do everything I can to make sure they are fully integrated in my world. New players or experienced players are more than welcome at my table. I run my games with the rule of cool. If you want to out-cool the rule, fine by me. My games are set in a homebrew world with customisation at the heart of everything I do. So, join me!

My favorite books are
Recently, I read The Devils by Joe Abercrombie. I absolutely loved it! It's very D&D. If a group of players want to play an immortal knight, a werewolf, a vampire, a necromancer, an invisible elf (if they hold their breath), a pirate, a horny monk and an insecure thief then I'm all for it!
How DM Lowes runs games
I take great pride and joy in collaborative storytelling. While I provide the canvas, you provide the paint. I think it would be easier to put my style in a list: - Roleplaying is important to me. We tell stories for moments that make us feel elated, electrified, and make us sweat. Combat can give you 50% of this, the other 50% comes from your input into the narrative. - I run a variety of combat styles. I'm not going to go easy on you. That being said, I love setting goals during combat or even just mixing it up from a big beast fights a party. - I like dark stories. Not your typical undead zombies or ghosts (although they can feature). But psychological topics, stories that mess with your mind and make you question your moralities. - I live for customisation and collaboration. I want to work with you to create the story you want told. Because of this, I will always ask you for feedback so that I can ensure you come back hopeful for more goodness.

Rules are...
Like guidelines. Rules are there to help shape the fun and the game and I will pay attention to them. Equally, if there's something cool you want to do, let's talk about it. I'm a tinkerer as well. Lots of homebrew. So long as what you want isn't broken and makes narrative sense, I'm all ears.
DM Lowes's ideal table
My ideal table are people who care about stories and who want to collaborate to create a story together. As a DM, my job is to give you a bad guy who has a purpose. But you help direct it. I want players who remember and care about their backstory. I want players who care about the other characters too and are happy to watch others' have their moments in the limelight. Because D&D is about everything above. Collaborate storytelling and sometimes sitting back and watching a show.

My table is not the place for...
Min-maxxing. It's okay for one shots but for a longer campaign, build a realistic character with flaws. Also, no metagaming. Looking up monsters to know their weaknesses, for example. And, most important, there's no room at my table for bullying, belittling, or shaming. You can leave immediately.
