About Gage
Hello everyone! My name is Gage, and I come from nine years of being a part of the world of TTRPGS. Admittedly, most of that has been with D&D 5e. I spent three years as a full-time professional DM, both on startplaying and other areas. I have a load of experience to share and help the games run smoothly. I love a good story and am always looking for ways to improve my craft. While homebrew worlds and stories are my bread and butter, so to speak, I am always up for new and inviting challenges. I always prioritize my players and their characters for story purposes and have never shied away from a little rule of cool when appropriate.

I got started GMing...
I got started GMing because I absolutely love the TTRPG Space and have a wonderful time hearing all the emotions come through the mic as my players win an epic battle, lose someone important, and connect the dots to the hidden plotline.
My favorite books are
The Licanius Trilogy, Raven's Shadow Trilogy, The Ranger's Apprentice Series, and Most Halo Books.
My favorite shows/movies are
My favorite shows are Fallout, Legends of Vox Machina, and Solo Leveling. My Favorite movies are Avengers Endgame, The Outsiders, The Transformers: The Movie (1986).
How Gage runs games
My games can be a bit combat-heavy, but I always try to tie in as many roleplay moments as possible. My focus, however, is for players to have individual moments to shine as well as collaborative times when everyone can really pull together to get that epic win they need. Nothing makes me happier as a DM than when my players feel they can get involved enough to have emotional connections to their characters and the world they live in. So when a player gets that Ah-hah moment after finally connecting all the pieces, or is the last one standing in the party, and finds a way to save everyone. Those thrills and high moments are what I look to deliver to my players. Of course, the world would have to be really good as well to allow you to invest yourselves in it. So I take every opportunity to world-build and make sure all your questions are answered.

I deal with rules issues by...
My players are allowed to contest a ruling, in which I will take a quick moment to review. I can then either change my ruling if I find I was wrong or continue with the call I made. At the end of the session, the player can stick around, and we can hash it out until we hit a good compromise.
My games focus on...
The world-building around your characters, including a good amount of lore upon request. Moments for your characters to deliver that heroic win, either in combat or out. The emotional investment into not only your character but also the actions that affect them.
Rules are...
I typically go by rules as written; however, I am no stranger to an occasional rule of cool and homebrew option.
Gage's ideal table
I have previously hosted a variety of tables. Some are good for laughs, while others are serious. Some of my tables prefer all combat, and others prefer light combat. I am sure I can find the right table for you. I always try to match players to the table. Give me two sessions, and by then, not only will I have a good idea about you, but also what table might work best for you.

I love it when a player
Really invest in the character they bring to the table and can have those verbal outburst moments when something great happens in-game.
I think metagaming...
I am not the biggest fan of this. Hence, why most of my creatures in my campaigns have an altered statblock. Part of the fun about D&D is the shock and awe, so to speak, and I look to deliver on that part.
I think min/maxing...
Isn't necessarily bad in proper doses. As long as you can continue to make your character work well in the environment they are in, then I do not have an issue. So long as you give other party members the chance to shine as well.
