About me
With over 20 years of experience as both a player and Game Master (GM) in various tabletop RPGs, I bring a wealth of knowledge and a passion for immersive storytelling to every gaming session. As GM, I excel in rules knowledge, improvisation, and the art of tension management, ensuring a smooth and engaging gameplay experience every step of the way. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or a newcomer to the world of tabletop RPGs, I'll tailor the experience to suit your preferences and skill level, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone can shine.
GM Style
With a background in theater and some improv comedy, my style leans into integrating the various themes and styles associated with each player into an over-arching narrative that emerges over time. I enjoy crafting an experience for those involved with music, visuals, character voices, and creating and managing tension. My table is a safe place for all types of players where everyone can feel respected.

Played in a short-term DungeonWorld game using Foundry and run by Sherlock. He's extremely knowledgeable about both the gaming system as well as Foundry. He's quick on his feet and very creative. He does an amazing job in making his players feel comfortable by recognizing when someone may be struggling with creativity and guiding them towards actions that make sense for their character or helping players having a difficult time using Foundry. Playing with Sherlock has been a wonderful experience and I highly recommend him as a GM.
Sherlock ran our ragtag team of adventurers for 4 years from level 0 to level 17. We started as an in-person group at the end of 2019 and once the Covid lockdown happened he was ready with an online solution to keep us rolling. He vetted each of us through a series of online questions and in person interviews. Once he had his group chose he sent out an extensive (in my experience) questionnaire to determine what kind of campaign we wanted. How much combat were we expecting? Were we interested in mystery and/or political intrigue? It went on for a few pages. Sherlock has EXTENSIVE knowledge of Toril lore and puts it to work. The Knight "caroused" a little too hard and ended the night with a salacious painting of him done, the Bard had a love interest, the Cleric summoned a fey chicken familiar from a scroll of Find Familiar they found in the first part of the game that managed to stay around for the entire campaign. There were spooky parts, hilarious parts, plenty of serious parts. He had fantastic maps, NPCs of every variety, villains we truly hated, and crafted a world we were invested in wanted to save.
Sherlock knows his stuff! His villains were the star of the show. The way that he kept a schedule of the world, and that the villains would keep advancing their nefarious plans even if the heroes weren't looking directly at them made our decisions as players super important. A skilled, sensitive, and creative DM - would recommend!
Fantastic DM! Sherlock was my DM for my second ever D&D campaign, and when we started I was very very new to the system. He was always very helpful and encouraging and provided a welcoming environment, which helped me to get better at both the mechanics and roleplaying over time. Sherlock is also great at crafting an experience that is engaging for the various different player styles at the table!
Sherlock helped guide us all through an unfamiliar system and an unfamiliar group, creating a cohesive party very qucikly and giving us all things to play offf and build from. He then dropped us right into the story and helped us figure out how the mechanics worked. After that, he took us off on an adventure that was extremely creative, hard to predict, and a lot of fun to try to figure out. It was also actively being tailored to the brand new characters we'd just given him as we went, with little things only our characters would notice or know being added as we went. I've been playing for 24 years, and rarely had someone so smoothly integrate a group of strangers and get us fully up and running with enough time to really have a first session the first night.
I'm nearing the end of a years-long campaign, have played oneshots during this time, and would happily play anything Sherlock might run in the future. He's a fantastic storyteller that's wonderful about weaving your character into the world. Sessions with him have, consistently, been one of the highlights of my week.
