About Myriam

I was 14 years old when I played D&D for the first time. It was a school group with a nerdy teacher who opened his class during lunch time so like minded folks could meet. I started as a human cleric in a 3.5 setting. I will always remember my first game. Fast forward to college I got to meet incredible friends and amazing players. We had a blast with the 4th edition. I experienced my first homebrew world where I played a Longtooth Shifter cleric. What a tank she was. Then I played a druid hamadryad in Dark Sun. Unfortunately, we never got to finish the campaign, like so many others! How many loved character sheets are abandonned in my keepsake box? Way too many... Getting nostalgic now! Then came the 5th edition. A breath of fresh air. For me, it was a return to my roots. Steamlined, clear, less technical. I love love love it. I am currently a DM in a homebrew campaign. I have great players who come every week. It's awesome, but I need more. It's like an addiction. A beautiful one.

How Myriam runs games

I am very story oriented. I like to think of ttrpgs as collaborative storytelling more than a boardgame with rules. The players contribute as much to the story as the GM. The GM's role is more one of a narrator to the main characters than the one directing the show. I like players who want to follow/further the story and in turn I give a lot of freedom to explore, think outside the box and let them have agency. I reward when players help each other and think of the group and the main goal. I like puzzles, word games, complex plots, NPCs with more than one driving force. If you don't take notes, beware! All of this does not mean I do not know how to throw challenging encounters your way. Expect changing environment, timed challenges, dynamics galore.
