About DM Mickaël
I'm a Software Engineer with strong experience in Game Design and Game Development. I have a undying passion for RPGs and set the bar very high for myself. My technical experience allows me to provide beautiful visual aids and automation, while my experience as a Game Designer allow me to create enjoyable adventures with compelling challenges, for a deeply immersive and memorable experience. I became a GM because
I had a few bad experiences with DMs as a player and thought: "Wow, even I could do better!". It gave me the motivation to learn, persevere, and actually get good at it :)

playing them, or preparing them. I pay great attention to details, making sure that everything looks and feels great.
How DM Mickaël runs games
I run my games Rules as Written, but I may bend them if a player attempts something really cool. In any case, I only ever do so at the benefit of the players, never at their expense. I provide a good mix of roleplay, puzzles, exploration and combat. I'm also very keen on respecting everybody's time, so while I encourage feedback and discussing the rules, this is something I prefer to keep between sessions rather than in the middle of them. My number 1 objective is, and always will be, to ensure that everybody is having a great time. I'm a strong believer in the "yes, and..." concept and put a strong emphasis on player agency, but only to the extent that it doesn't overshadow the other players. This is a team game after all. In my games, everybody has a voice, and everybody is important.

My games focus on...
...including the players into the story! As a player, your character won't be shoehorned into the campaign, but will be an inherent part of the world. You'll have more than enough agency to influence what's happening around them and leave their mark onto the world.
Rules are...
...a tacit contract between the DM and the players. We all agree that things should happen a certain way, so we're all on the same page and can focus on the game. That's why I mostly play Rules as Written, and am otherwise very transparent about any house rule or ruling that I make.
When it comes to voices
I love playing with voices. I'm not a voice actor but I really enjoy getting into each and every NPC that I incarnate. Expect a lot of different voices and my best effort at acting characters with a wide range of emotions :)
