About Dylan K. Hannesson
Hi, I'm Dylan! I have been a GM for 6 years, since I jumped in both feet tied by homebrewing my own campaign from the ground up. As an avid reader and writer, I homebrew almost everything I make, down to the varied locales and intricate lore of my settings. Also, as an avid actor, I like to give my NPCs larger-than-life personas and voices, as well as reasons for players to get invested. My #1 priority as a GM is to tune into the experience of my players. I curate everything in my games to what my players seek from a campaign; I like to weave their characters into the fabric of the setting's story, so that everyone has something to fight for... and something to lose. Challenging or easy, lighthearted or dark and dreary, sci-fi or fantasy, modern or medieval: anything you could possibly want out of a world to wander, I'll work hard to make it a reality!

I became a GM because
I love to write and do voices, but most of all, I love to hang out with friends.
When I'm not running games I'm...
playing games, singing/acting, and writing for my games!
How Dylan K. Hannesson runs games
I'm very roleplay heavy, and I design such encounters to allow players to use their skills and abilities. Second to roleplay for me is combat, I love giving players the opportunity to take down challenging, interesting opponents in inventive ways using the environments and physiology of the creature itself. Finally, and sort of swaddling both of the above facets, is lore and story; I design plots and worldly lore to compliment the encounters, allowing players to determine the mysteries of a world their characters thought familiar.

I deal with rules issues by...
thinking of what would be most fun in the situation. I'll use the rules as an outline, but I'll bend or break any rule to make sure my players have a good time.
Rules are...
made to be known, and know to be broken!
Dylan K. Hannesson's ideal table
Ideally, my table is full of players unafraid to act their parts and take risks for the sake of telling a gripping story.

I love it when a player
makes a choice true to their character. Even if it interferes with my plan for the game or session, it means that that player is really into it.
My table is not the place for...
self-deprecation, any sort of prejudice, or bullying of any kind. If your goal is to "win" or to be the main character at my table, you'll be disappointed.
