About Evelyn
Hiya! My name is Evelyn. I'm a Trans Australian GM who's been playing and running various systems since 2017. I started running games with Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition, but have since dipped my toes into games like Call of Cthulhu, Cyberpunk RED, Outgunned, and Mothership! If you prioritise having a good time and playing pretend with a bunch of other nerds. I'm the GM for you! And if you ALSO prioritise working with others at the table to make memorable moments, consequences be damned- you're DEFINITELY the player for me!

I became a GM because
I wanted to!!! Playing in games wasn't enough! I was so deeply into how ttrpgs played that I wanted to facilitate the fun for more of my friends! This is why I focus so heavily on Player Character narratives and joy when I run- I'm not here to tell my own story, I'm here to help everyone have fun!
My favorite system of all Time is
Outgunned! My favourite part of rolling dice in these games is to make major things happen and for the story and scenes to be dictated by player agency and the thrilling roll of a dice, and Outgunned thrives on this idea. A good enough roll can make insane things happen- and a terrible roll can too!
When I'm not running games I'm...
Playing whatever video games have claimed my fixation for the week B-)
How Evelyn runs games
Roleplay and Player Agency focused games are my personal expertise. I love doing silly and varied voices, describing the senses you experience as your character, setting up personal narratives and scenes for players to play into or twist and break, and letting people do whatever they want to solve (or create) their problems! as long as it isn't actively ruining another player's time at the table, you can do whatever you want!

I prep by
Maps! Tokens! Narrative Outlines! I do everything I can BEFORE the session to focus as much ON the session as I can! Nobody likes when a GM has to pause the game to do something they could have done before we all got immersed!
My games focus on...
everyone having a good time! EVERYONE. That includes me AND the person who's mic is muted for 90% of the session. You will be asked what you want to do when you haven't acted in a while, and you'll have a good time, I promise! (Shy players are also welcome to "Pass" and simply follow the party!)
Rules are...
Great baselines! Game designers know how to set expectations and dictate the flow of a typical game with their rules. That's where I come in though! To use these rules as a means to encourage, not discourage, clever actions and possibilties beyond what we may do "irl"
Evelyn's ideal table
If you really focus on the Cooperative part of "Cooperative Game" then we should get along great! Focusing on having fun and engaging with your fellow players to facilitate their fun as well is very important to me as a Player and as a GM and so I'd love to see that mentality shared throughout the whole table.

I love it when a player
asks questions! Ask me questions, ask other players questions, get informed! Figure out opportunities to encourage others to indulge in the game and their characters. You never know when a simple "What is your character doing?" will give a player an opportunity for their favourite moment.
I think metagaming...
Is a bit of a complicated buzzword! Cheating is lame and discussing a bunch of out of character stuff in the middle of a high octane scene can really ruin the vibe. But I also think the game runs smoother when you act with a certain piece of info in mind! Set the troll on fire! It'll be cool!
My table is not the place for...
Being rude. We're all here to have fun and mocking other players, saying hateful words, and just bringing any sort of intentional malice to the group is not helpful to keeping the fun going. Sure you can roast each other and make jokes. Just be mindful and apologise when things go too far.
