About Marissa

There are few things in this world that hold more power than a story. And sharing them across the table with you is my greatest passion in life. So I take great care in crafting all my adventures so the party can have as much fun as possible, blending elements of fantasy and mystery with a heaping dose of comedic hijinks.

My favorite books are

Soulless by Gail Carriger, Chorus of Dragons by Jenn Lyons, Little Thieves by Margaret Owen

The three words my players would use to describe me are...

goofy, creative, kind

When I'm not running games I'm...

Making dice! Reading about TTRPGs! Watching and listening to Actual Plays! I spend as much as I can in my days focused on D&D and everything it brings. It has been taking over my life in the absolute best way possible, and I need more.

How Marissa runs games

My sessions focus on roleplay and character moments, as I aim to highlight each player and their choices. I follow the Rule of Cool and will work with you to make your crazy ideas possible. Plus, there will be always be a "little guy" around for the party to adopt!

I deal with rules issues by...

holding an open discussion with the table. While the rules are to guide us and keep things structured, they have flexibility in order to allow the table to have the most fun.

My games focus on...

Narrative moments, creative decisions, and active role play

When it comes to voices

I try my best to give each NPC a new voice, in the hopes of making them distinctive and engaging. For players, I encourage them to do whatever feels most comfortable for them and their character.
