About me

Hello and greetings! My name is David, I also go by Delta online for gaming and such. I'm 29 years old and I've been DM'ing now for roughly 13 years and playing DnD for 15. I have done countless one shots from the published book modules like Strahd, Stromking's Thunder, and Waterdeep to homebrew one shots like father's day bring your dad one shot, a yearly Halloween horror one shot and even several PvP battle royals. I have experience with smaller groups of 3-4 to managing larger group sessions of up to 12 as once. My main long term experience however has been in my two campaigns that run in the world of my own creation, a four continent world called Endrazia. The two campaigns have been going for quite some time now, the first for 9 years and the second around 2 and a half. The first campaign has slowed unfortunately due to people moving away and career changes making scheduling harder and harder so I've come into much more free time that I'd love to fill with some more Dungeons and Dragons! My second campaign actually started with a reddit post on the r/lfg subreddit, I had a long post about starting a new campaign and posted about my DM'ing and the setting and left a google form for people interested, I ended up with over 300 applicants and interviewed via video chat with almost all of them to narrow down to my core group of six, which took almost two months! My style for DM'ing is very open, homebrew things are always welcome to be presented to me to look over, most of the time I'll give the nod of approval, only really ever saying no to the absurd or obviously game breaking. I encourage RP between players and any NPC. I do my very best with voices and making each NPC feel unique however I am no voice actor so it's certainly not perfect. I love in depth stories and pulling things from player backstories to make the world around them feel more real, i'll use images for locations or NPC portraits whenever possible and almost always ambient music for the setting the characters are in. Anything to make the experience easier to immerse yourself in. My campaigns usually break up into story arcs, each one usually having one to two of my players as the main center points giving them more of a 'spotlight' during that arc and then moving it to others next arc and so on, that way everyone will have that 'main character' feeling at some point. My games tend to be more roleplay than combat, I'd say a 60%-40% ratio possibly even 65%-35%. I encourage players to think outside the box and try out things, rule of cool will always over rule the core rulebook. I also like to do private sessions with a player or players outside of main sessions for any dream sequences that might occur or deity interactions that a player can keep secret or tell the party. Always happy to answer questions outside of sessions too anytime! I really could keep going but ill leave it at that, thanks so much for taking the time to read and I hope I've impressed you or made you want to join in on creating an amazing and epic story with me!

GM Style

Roleplay heavy sessions, 60-30 ratio of RP to combat usually. Small skirmish style battles through story arcs with final bbeg 1-3 session final battle at end of arc. I try to do different voice, body language and personality for each NPC to make them as unique as possible. Magic heavy settings with both homebrew and published items.
