I've been playing and GMing RPGs for 35 years, starting with AD&D 2nd edition and branching out into dozens of other systems. I love to run games of all types with an emphasis on character-driven stories peppered with lots of exciting action and narrative beats. I am committed to ensuring that my games are inclusive and open to players of all backgrounds and experience levels. I have a background in teaching, and I love introducing people to new games—or to the joy of TTRPGs as a whole.

How Dan Q runs games
I like to craft compelling narratives alongside my players. I'm a big fan in "playing to find out" and a skilled improviser. I like to have players contribute to the scene and the setting. I love to have a mix of play styles at my table—though toxic and anti-inclusive players are a nonstarter. My games vary in tone, but I gravitate towards games that allow me to mix character-driven story beats with exciting action-packed set pieces. I also bring a fairly encyclopedic rules knowledge to the table for lots of different systems. After all, you have to know the rules before you can know when it's appropriate to break them. I enjoy running one-shots as well as longer campaigns, ranging from short, punchy mini-campaigns to epic adventures spanning years of real time. I have played or run games in every system listed in my profile and more.
