About Daniel

Greetings! I´m Daniel. For the past few years, I have served as the “Forever DM” for my family and friends, running D&D, Pathfinder and Call of Cthulhu. Now, I am setting my sights on the “indie Horizon,” starting with the incredible Mythic Bastionlands. My GM style: I believe the best stories come from player ingenuity, not just the rulebook. My table focuses on collaborative storytelling—I present the world, but you decide how to change it. Why play with me? Player Perspective: As someone who recently started being a player again, I know exactly what it feels like to sit on your side of the screen. I prioritize pacing, agency, and ensuring every player gets their moment in the spotlight. New Systems, No Stress: I specialize in introducing players to new games. If you’ve always wanted to try a TTRPG that isn't the "same old stuff," we can explore it together. I'm always open to learning new games and bringing fresh experiences to our table. Bilingual GM (English & Spanish) I offer distinct tables for both languages. Whether you want to roleplay in English or are looking for a dedicated campaign in Spanish, I deliver the same high-quality immersion and professional storytelling for both. ¡Se habla Español! We can run games to practice either lenguage.

I got started GMing...

I got started GMing because no one in my friends or family groups wanted to read the rulebooks. What began as a practical solution turned into a passion for the limitless possibilities tabletop RPGs offer—stories and experiences that go beyond books, video games, series, and movies.

My favorite books are The Cursed Legions by Santiago Posteguillo and The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson—stories that blend grand strategy, deep characters, and epic worldbuilding.

My favorite shows/movies are

My favorite movies and series include The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Ranking of Kings, and Frieren—stories that balance epic journeys with emotional depth and quiet, character-driven moments.

How Daniel runs games

Narrative First, Rules Second. Coming from a background of mainly Pathfinder and Call of Cthulhu, I understand the value of rules—but I believe they should support the story, not stop it. My games focus on high player agency and creative problem solving. What you can expect at my table: Ingenuity over Stat Blocks: I reward players who think outside the box. If you come up with a clever solution that uses the environment rather than just rolling an attack die, I will almost always say "Yes, and..." Exploration & Atmosphere: Whether we are wandering the myths of the Bastionlands or investigating cosmic horrors, I use music and descriptive pacing to immerse you in the world. Fast Paced: I keep the game moving. We won't spend 30 minutes looking up a grappling rule; I'll make a fair ruling in the moment so we can keep playing. Safe & Inclusive: My table is a space for everyone. While the characters might be in danger, the players always feel safe and respected. Beginners are especially welcome! We will learn new systems together.

I deal with rules issues by...

I handle rules issues by checking the source material first. When ambiguity remains, I discuss possible interpretations with the players. If a consensus is difficult to reach, we go with the rule of cool. Once a ruling is made, I apply it consistently going forward.

My games focus on...

My games focus on player-driven experiences, where the narrative I create evolves through collaboration with the players. I run everything from epic fantasy campaigns in Pathfinder, to dramatic cosmic horror in Call of Cthulhu, to intentionally goofy Paranoia sessions.

When it comes to voices

I don’t rely heavily on character voices. Instead, I use tone, description, and narrative clarity to bring the world to life, focusing on storytelling and player choices over performance-style acting.

Daniel's ideal table

My ideal table is one where the group shares a common understanding of tone and expectations. I want all players to feel comfortable with the themes and vibe of the game. I’m flexible as a GM, but mixed expectations—such as some players wanting a serious story while others want nonstop chaos—can make it harder for everyone to fully enjoy the experience.

I love it when a player

I love it when a player actively engages with the world and enhances the narrative through creative choices and personal flavor that only a player can bring.
