About Blue
Howdy, I'm Blue. I love challenging, entertaining, and building stories with folks through tabletop roleplaying games. RPG's have always been a love of mine, I've been playing TTRPG's for ~6 years and GMing for 2. My default game style is "Tend toward RaW, but feel out for when to stretch or break the rules." I challenge players with tough combat and create good stories and good laughs through a bit of roleplaying. 🛡️ Safe, Welcoming Spaces • 🚫 Zero Tolerance for bigotry of any kind. • 🧰 I make use of TTRPG safety tools to ensure everyone is comfortable, respected, and having fun.

How Blue runs games
I generally enjoy noodling with combats and monsters and so my game usually ends up looking a bit like ~60% combat focus and ~40% roleplaying. But if the players clearly desire more roleplay I let that guide the game. Romance will be mostly unavailable from NPC's in my games unless it is extremely abstracted. Other than that I think every game should be a conversation between everyone at the table and that includes expectations going in and tone throughout. Everybody should be safe and comfortable at the gaming table and that is an expectation I hold myself and my table to.

I deal with rules issues by...
...ruling in the moment based on interpretation of my knowledge of the rules + what seems consistent+equitable with the tone+situation. After the session I'll look into a rule or ruling and am open to others offering their input+sources.
Rules are...
...a good framework to establish consitency and clear expectations. At a table where the rules are generally considered to be a reliable guide for how things are going to work in the game world everyone can have an assurance that obstacles and outcomes are going to be adjudicated consistently.
When it comes to voices
...I give different characters their own feel and I occassionally try and very infrequently succeed at using unique accents.
Blue's ideal table
I first ensure everyone is comfortable and safe, then endeavor to create a game where everyone can realize their fun. I will definitely shoot the monk.

I love it when a player
...comes up with a wild solution/work around that is so offbeat that I hate it for breaking things and so good (thematic, in-character, logical) that I can't help but allow it to work. ...finds ways to interact with the world/other characters such that their character developes in interesting ways.
I think it's a red flag when players...
...don't care about everyone else's fun. I hope players seek their own fun, but not at the expense of everyone else's. ...can't accept mistakes (or even just non-optimal choices whether intentional or not) from others, be it players or DM. ...don't make an effort to respect the shared space.
