About me

I started playing RPGs when my older brother invited me to join their D&D group in the early 80s. I introduced my friends to the game and became the forever DM - a mantle I've enjoyed for many years. I have run games D&D, DnD, Shadowrun, Tales from the Loop, Monster of the Week, Paranoia, Toon, Deadlands, Earthdawn, and many more. Since 2016, I've run most of my games through Roll20. I am an old-school gamer who runs games in a player-friendly space, with a play style focused more on the stories we can create than arguing over 'rules as written'.

GM Style

I prefer story and style over RAW. Role-playing over rules-lawyering. I run a friendly space (LBGTQIA+, BIMPOC, Safety Cards) for New and Old players. We are here to play a game, weave a story, and have fun.

CWilsonTrull always creates the right atmosphere for a horror session, which isn't always easy for a D&D campaign. He also knows how to make a scenario challenging to the point that literally anything can happen, without committing an outright TPK; also not an easy thing to do. He's a seasoned DM who knows what kind of experience he wants to give the players and how to deliver it.

C is a great DM because he puts his players into interesting situations, makes sure that everyone is included and he's all around a funny guy! Would recommend highly.

I have been lucky enough to play in two games GMed by C. We played Pathfinder 2e and Monster of the Week. In both games, they built amazing worlds and intricate mysteries that had me excited for every session. I always felt comfortable asking to do creative things, and even when they couldn't accommodate all of those ideas—often because it was mechanically not possible—they would find some way to keep the spirit of the request alive or offer an alternative more attemptable action. Once, in the climax of our PF2e game, when they gave a monster an immunity that they did not realize negated my characters abilities, I was able to talk to them, and they found a compromise that allowed the boss to remain threatening without my character being irrelevant. If their ability to work with players wasn't great enough, their stories have fleshed out worlds with many moving pieces that feel real and lived in, as well. They enjoy feeding the roleplay, but they give plenty of opportunities for the fight inclined, too. It's all about what the players want from the game. In the end, I couldn't recommend C more. They listen to us players, try to make us feel included in the story, and weaves an engaging tale for us to unravel.

C is awesome. Met him as a player in one of my own games and now he is one of my favorite GMs. Does a great job of incorporating back stories into his games and is comfortable running a lot of different systems.
