About Elaren

Greetings adventurers! My name is Elaren, and I have been DMing for about 6 years, where I have fallen in love with creating unforgettable and immersive D&D experiences. For the past couple of years, I have been building my own world/setting named Myridia, where I have been designing adventurers for my players at my home sessions and consistently refining my craft as a Dungeon Master. And now I want to bring this world that I have put much love and care into to you. I personally believe that a session is not complete without amazing music, soundtracks, and ambience; since I am a musician, I believe that music is an integral part of how stories are told. Throughout my entire life, I have been obsessed with and have studied history, languages, and cultures. I love using these studies to enhance and heighten the realism in my games, providing an experience that feels realistic while also fantastical. Whether you're brand new to D&D or you've been playing for years, my goal is for every session to feel like you're stepping into a fantasy novel where you're the heroes traversing a world that feels like your own. I want my table to be a place where everyone feels welcome, gets their moments to shine, and leaves you excited for the next adventure. People are always surprised when I tell them

How I compose and tailor music, ambience, and sfx to every encounter. I feel as if music is an integral part of storytelling, and I genuinely believe that it can be the most immersive aspect of the TTRPG experience. So I always do my best to go above and beyond for my players' experience musically.

How Elaren runs games

I love creating adventures that feel like you're stepping into a living world with a history of its own. Often inspired by real history... The rise and fall of empires, forgotten civilizations, political intrigue, ancient warfare, mythology, and the little details that made our own world feel alive all find their way into my games. I believe fantasy becomes even more immersive when it feels believable, so I spend a lot of time researching history and using it to shape the cultures, conflicts, and mysteries my players experience. My games often feel and lean more toward a gritty, mysterious, and realistic vibe while also retaining the mystical and fantastical elements of my worlds. I always strive to create rewarding investigations that uncover meaningful secrets, situations in which your choices have lasting consequences, and cinematic set pieces alongside tactical combat that rewards teamwork and creative thinking. Foundry VTT allows me to bring those moments to life through dynamic lighting, immersive music, beautiful maps, and visual storytelling. Since I am a musician, I have been working on creating my own music for specific and integral moments in the story and also working on creating theme songs for your party as a whole or for each of the PCs. Disclaimer, though: this is a work in progress, and if I see more support for this kind of thing, I will absolutely work harder to make it a reality.
