About Nonsequitur
Hello! I have been running as a Dungeon Master for Dungeons and Dragons for 33 years. I have also played a few other Roleplaying games, such as World of Darkness games. I enjoy Table Top strategy games as well. I prefer mature, nuanced games that include strong character development and role-playing as well as tactical, exciting combat. I'm seeking players who want to visit far away realms for an evening, and experience joy, wonder, horror, and excitement.

I became a GM because
I love storytelling! I enjoy helping people make a voyage of the imagination into new worlds, and to inhabit those worlds and characters for an evening. It's a unique experience. I think we're all lucky to be able to write these stories together.
I got started GMing...
I got started GM'ing when I was about 16, playing 2nd Edition D&D. I was hooked! I loved designing new worlds, and setting everything out according to the rules of the game. These days, when I use house rules, the goal is to increase player engagement and enjoyment.
My favorite system of all Time is
Pathfinder, 1st edition. I just love crunchy games. Storytelling always comes first, and Pathfinders endless character options allow players to tell a story with character design that is unparalleled in other systems.
How Nonsequitur runs games
I enjoy games with fascinating stories, where the players are fully engaged. I prefer to tell stories with political and moral dilemmas, as well as tactical and strategic challenges. I am comfortable with a variety of genres. Players can expect a GM who is interested in exploring who their character is, their place in the world, and in telling a complete story about their character's journey from beginning to end. My goal isn't to run a good game. It's to run the best game you've ever played in.
Nonsequitur's ideal table
My ideal table is composed of mature players with a great sense of humor. Such players are masters of the game system, yet they understand that the mechanics exist to serve the story, and the story exists to serve the audience. Together, we weave epic tales where each person is part of a team of writers and storytellers crafting a tale that we will remember fondly for the rest of our lives! The game that comes out of my 'ideal' table is full of excitement, wonder, laughter, and a few tears, for what great story does not have trials and tragedies? My players are partners in crafting a story who trust me to begin the tale, and guide the story. They can take that foundation I provide, and upon it they can build something that is both magnificent, and their own.

I am for a vibe that's...
Founded on trust first. We all trust each other to tell our part of the story, and to go into deep emotional territory when appropriate, but are equally accepting that each person at the table may be in search of a different experience, and we're happy to play in lighter emotional tones as well.
I love it when a player
Engages with the world, and builds goals, ambitions, or complications that help the rest of the group who their character is, and who they're trying to be.
My table is not the place for...
People who are not accepting of others. We are here to play together. Adults should be able to do that in a spirit of fun, harmony, and cooperation. My table is not the place for anyone to hog the spotlight, or to mistreat anyone else, or harbor grudges.
