About Jonah
I started playing 1e D&D in 2014, then learned 3.5e, then started playing 5e when it came out, and since then I've branched out all over finding a love for all sorts of role-play and story-centric games. Outside of TTRPGs, I have a closet full of more board games than I can play, and spend a lot of time playing Commander Magic the Gathering. I love finding games that create new mechanics for the purpose of developing story beats and character interactions. Powered by the Apocalypse and Forged in the Dark systems are some of my favorite, and I love telling stories with a great many moving parts. "The clock is always ticking." I'm very experienced in D&D and Savage Worlds, but I'm most at home playing factional and role play-centric games like Urban Shadows or Blades in the Dark.

How Jonah runs games
I use games as a form of personal and artistic expression and want it to be a home for players to do the same. I want to create worlds and stories where it is fun to play your character and to work through the problems they face- not just experiencing randomly generate combat encounters, all conflict should make sense in the story we're telling. That being said, the monsters do know what they're doing. Combat can be a lot more rewarding when the challenge isn't just in how many encounters-per-day you're experiencing, but in how much those combats actually matter. As far as GM role models go, I aspire every day to get closer to the level of talent exhibited by Brennan Lee Mulligan in the Wizard, the Witch, and the Wild One.
