About Elizabeth

GM with 20+ years of experience GMing. Looking to figure out a way to cover my own upkeep costs for gaming. I've run the full range, from D&D 1e through 5e, Pathfinder 1e and 2e, Starfinder 1e, Daggerheart, and even the occasional Call of Cthulhu game. Looking into starting Starfinder 2e.

I got started GMing...

At the age of 12 with my friends. I still play with some of them to this day.

My favorite books are

R.A. Salvatore's "Legend of Drizzt" series, the David & Leigh Edding's "Belgariad" and "Mallorean" serieses, and the a friend of mine's book series "The Lilith Saga" available on Wattpad.

When I'm not running games I'm...

Thinking about the stories and fun events that my player's and I create together, as well as new stories/ideas for new games to create/play together with my players and friends.

How Elizabeth runs games

I like story-driven games with lots of character-building moments and plenty of narrative-focused gameplay. Combat is still fun and engaging, but more in the back seat.

I deal with rules issues by...

Talking and listening to all parties involved, trying to understand every angle. If I can genuinely see a good and fair argument for a ruling to be one way, then I'll alter my ruling to match it.

My games focus on...

Story and player fun/agency. If the rules or adventure aren't enjoyable to a player (or a group of players), I will modify and mold them to make the game as enjoyable as possible for everyone at the table. I also focus on player safety and comfort.

When it comes to voices

I'm a "take-it-or-leave-it" kind of girl. I enjoy using voices, and REALLY enjoy hearing my players get into character and use interesting/unique voices for their characters, but at the end of the day, it's not necessary.

Elizabeth's ideal table

The vibe of my tables are ideally a perfect mix of chill, yet focused. I like it when my players care about the story, but aren't so invested that, if something doesn't go their way, they take it as a personal slight against them.

I love it when a player

Surprises me. I know the rules very well, and I've done/seen some crazy things in my time, but seeing a player genuinely surprise me, either in roleplay or action, is always a pleasure. I can never get enough.

I think it's a red flag when players...

Focus more on min-maxing than the story or each other. While I don't have an issue with min-maxing, I do have a small issue with people who min-max as though it's the ONLY way to play and get upset at those who don't, or players who also take the spotlight occasionally.

My table is not the place for...

Bigotry. I'm a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, and I will not tolerate anyone who is against that community.
