About Tiger
I'm a Pathfinder 1e Game Master with 15+ years of experience and 1,000+ hours on Roll20. I only run and play PF1e. I run campaigns using my homebrew worlds, from classic medieval fantasy adventures to anime-inspired and wuxia-style stories. I like building worlds with active factions, hidden histories, strange ruins, and choices that matter. I do not run premade APs. Your character's backstory will not just sit on the sheet. I look for ways to weave it into the world and connect it to the events happening around the party. Most of the maps I use are made by me via Inkarnate and Dungeon Alchemist, though I also use maps from other mapmakers when they fit the game. I love unusual dungeons, dramatic battlefields, and locations that feel like part of the world. I'm new to StartPlaying, but I'm not new to Pathfinder.

I became a GM because
I have been creating my own worlds ever since I was little, but I never had a good way to share them. Then a friend invited me to try Pathfinder, and I realized GMing was exactly what I needed: a way to not only show other people what I have created, but also to let them explore those worlds.
My favorite books are
Elantris and Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson; Beware of chicken by Casualfarmer.
When I'm not running games I'm...
playing a lot of video games. I also enjoy cooking and gardening; usually with the aid of audiobooks.
How Tiger runs games
I start with a campaign concept: surviving on a mysterious island, protecting a nomadic tribe through a dangerous desert, exploring a sealed city, or something similar. Then I build the world around it and drop the party into the middle of its major events. The players decide what matters, and the world reacts. Combat is tactical and interactive. Expect dynamic maps, useful objects, hazards, and goals beyond just killing everything. I want every character to have something meaningful to do, and boss fights to feel impactful. I aim for a good mix of exploration, roleplay, and combat in every session. Whether you are talking, fighting, or exploring, I want you to feel lost in another world, full of wonders and sometimes horrors, not just staring at numbers on your sheet. If you and your friends have a campaign idea you would love to bring to life, I may be the right fit. I enjoy creating custom games built around a party’s ideas.

I prep by
by building the world around the players. I review important characters’ abilities and backstories, both PCs and NPCs, then design scenes around how the party interacts with the world. After that, I build the combat encounters and either find or create battle maps that fit the scenario.
My games focus on...
characters who matter. I want PCs with reasons to stay, fight, and grow together. I do not try to kill characters, but death can happen. When it does, I want it to feel meaningful, not like swapping pieces on a board.
Rules are...
by the book. I believe a strong rules foundation makes the game fair and consistent, and it makes the rare “rule of cool” moment feel more earned when we bend the rules for something memorable.
Tiger's ideal table
My table is small, friendly, and relaxed. I like players who work well together, share the spotlight, and want everyone to have fun. Expect adventure, danger, cold drinks, and a few dad jokes along the way. At the end of the day, we are here to roll dice and have some laughs.

I love it when a player
finds out more about their and others' characters through my story-telling. I weave their characters' backstories into the campaign, so that everyone will find bit and pieces of their party members. This will allow them to develop comradery more naturally.
I think metagaming...
is fine, because it is part of the game. But I forces my players to roleplay on how their characters get the meta knowledge. This tends to force the players to be more creative; and when they put their brain to work, they are focused on the game. And that's more important for me.
I think min/maxing...
is also part of the game. We have athletes who can do things an average Joe could only dream of in real life. I don't see why a player cannot create the best character they can in a fantasy world. However, I do make sure that they understand, "With great power comes great responsibility."
