About Dick
I grew up playing loads of board games, party games, and various tabletop games, and in 2020 I started playing and GMing DnD consistently with friends. Since then, I have enjoyed bringing new friends into the fold and run several games for a handful of different friend groups. I love to teach new players the game and enjoy seeing players dive into their character, groups creatively solving problems, and navigating the story we're creating together.

I became a GM because
The current GM at the time needed a break and I wanted an excuse to play and voice multiple characters.
My favorite books are
Small Gods by Terry Pratchett, Dungeon Crawler Carl series by Matt Dinniman, Kings of the Wyld by Nicholas Eames, The Infinite and the Divine by Robert Rath, just to name a few.
How Dick runs games
My GMing is a very improvisational role playing, and character driven style. Whether it is the BBEG or a random town folk, I will take any reason to play a character and encourage the group to roll play as theirs. With the rules as a flexible guideline, I encourage and love to see players come up with creative solutions to problems, or have novel approaches to scenarios and how to use their abilities. I also try to take note of the abilities and powers the players have chosen for their characters, and formulate the story in such a way that they get opportunities to utilize them creatively. My ultimate goal is for the group to have enjoyed the session and look forward to the next time we play.

Rules are...
Flexible guidelines that can be bent for creative purposes. I like to reward creativity and role playing, but I do try to keep it fair and balanced.
When it comes to voices
I will always do them, but there are no guarantees they are consistent or good.

I love it when a player
Comes up with a creative solution to a problem, particularly when I had not anticipated or planned for it.
I think min/maxing...
can be fun, but that is solely dependant on how you role play it. I think it is great trying a certain build for a specific purpose, but I also love not OP builds and building for unique characters and ideas.
